In a senior technical capacity, Ive led and supervised Technicians and Technologists across all three branches of MRC, overseeing a variety of assigned medical equipment and its peripherals. Ive coordinated and influenced daily safety testing, repair, and maintenance of Radiology equipment, providing on-site leadership for all components of the medical equipment management plan. Ive also participated in the development of work policies, programs, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. My focus has always been on maximizing patient safety by supporting the proper use, application, and operational performance of patient care equipment. Ive served as a technical resource to other staff for repair and maintenance activities on selected equipment and systems. Notably, Ive initiated the medical technology plan and managed the inventory of medical devices.

As the leader of the Biomedical Engineering Department for two branches and satellite clinics, I played a pivotal role in the opening of a 300-bed hospital. My responsibilities spanned from planning and setting objectives to recruiting manpower, allocating resources, creating department charts, and implementing functions. I founded the departments policies and procedures in line with the hospitals guidelines and the standards set by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). I trained and supervised biomedical equipment engineers and technicians, liaised with governmental regulators on hospital inspections/audits, and served as a technological consultant for other hospital staff. I also monitored advancements in the field to guide hospital procurement patterns. As the primary administrative contact between other departments and the Biomedical Engineering Department, I managed overall operations and distribution of biomedical resources, including staffing, budgets, and outside vendor services. I reviewed, audited, and made decisions that supported activities related to problem diagnosis, repair, preventive maintenance, and quality assurance of patient care and other equipment. These efforts have significantly contributed to the departments success and the hospitals growth.

Ive reviewed hospital functional programs and architectural drawings, and conducted healthcare planner meetings to determine medical equipment needs. Ive undertaken both medical and non-medical equipment planning, identified equipment needs, and scheduled procurement and installation. Ive evaluated existing medical facilities requirements and provided necessary planning recommendations. Ive prepared technical specifications for medical and non-medical equipment, developed room-by-room equipment schedules and total bill of quantity, and provided equipment utility/MEP and environmental requirement data. Ive developed the final medical equipment list, specifications, and cost, and prepared budgetary cost estimates for medical and non medical equipment. Ive also developed and reviewed medical equipment procurement and bid documents. Ive been responsible for the selection, installation, and commissioning of all medical equipment of healthcare facilities, including testing and commissioning of equipment.
