PERTOLINES FOR CRDUE OIL COMPANY (PETCO), Khartoum, Sudan.

As General Inspection Engineer in P/L Operation Department Responsible for the following scope of work

1. Conduct inspections on all static equipment and facilities, on a scheduled and unscheduled basis.
2. Coordinate with the NDT group after determining the appropriate NDT method applicable to assess the equipment condition.

3. Manage the effective and efficient repair of equipment. Via visual inspection and data analysis determine the optimal cost repair method and establish a report detailing the relevant QA/QC procedures.
4. Ensure at all times that international/company standards are met for all repairs and testing.
5. Perform inspections on plant related equipment (Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Air Receivers etc.) As well as all lifting equipment (Cranes, Wire/Fiber Slings, Shackles etc.) to ensure safe operation and optimum efficiency is achieved.

6. Preparation of Quality Procedures & ITP.
7. Verify material and equipment received meet purchase order and specification requirements.

8. Safety Relief Valve Inspection and Testing & Piping inspection as per API 570.
9. Usage of Type B welding sleeves for the efficient repair of the transmission pipline.

10. Participate in any Emergency Repair of the pipeline which may occur due to pipe rupture or leaks.
11. Implementation and oversight of the lifting gear integrity assurance plan, conducted via annual inspections and regimented load testing schedule.

12. Responsible for the generation of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Analysis Reports. The creation and implementation of recommended Welding procedures as well as Welder qualification testing.
13. Produce and qualify all PETCO Welding Procedure Specifications.
14. Plan and Conduct Welders Training Program as per PETCO Qualified WPS.
15. Review/Approve hydrostatic and leak test package for pressure vessel and heat exchanger.

16. Ensure full compliance with company safety regulations and HSE management systems.
17. Preparation of final inspection reports. Maintain and update all inspection files as needed.
18. Liaise with maintenance department supervisors in all aspects of repairs.

1.Welding Inspections for new or existing welding joints on pipelines, tanks, pressure vessels and other plant equipments such as follow:
a.For new welding to perform:
• Review contractors’ WPS (Welding Procedure Specification), PQR
(Procedure Qualification Records) and welders’ certificates.
• Conduct Visual inspection of fit-up as per WPS, check electrodes or filler
Metal used, welding parameters setting as per WPS etc.
• Review RT films of the welding joints.
b.For existing welding joints if defect occur such as crack, conduct the followings:
• Conduct MPI or Dye Penetrant Test to confirm the defect length.
• Excavate the defects totally.
• Review contractor’s WPS, PQR and welders certificates.
2.Conduct materials inspection such as thorough visual inspection for any material defects if any, verified heat number as per the mill certificates, thickness gauging, etc.
3.Inspection of Plants’ Equipment Facilities such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, air receivers that also include inspection of cranes, wire/fiber slings, loose lifting tackles etc.
4.Safety Relief Valve Inspection and Testing.
