Achievements:
Worked directly as a sub-consultant on the ambitious development program of Abu-Dhabi International airport to review specifications, and design drawings of refurbishing and upgrading of the existing CAT-II runway, and initial studies of power supply to the new Midfield Terminal Building.
Representing the end-user in the developing program of Abu-Dhabi International Airport and working directly in co-ordination with SCADIA (The Supervision Committee representing Abu-Dhabi Government) to review and comment on the specifications and design drawings by the consultants, attend progress and safety meetings and witness testing and commissioning processes.
Achievements:
The fast track Terminals 2 and 3 which are completed in time and budget. The total cost of Terminal 2 is $400 million and project duration time 5 months including design stage. The total cost of Terminal 3 is $600 million and project duration time is 9 months.
Worked as a Head of Electrical Section within “The Projects Department” team. The team was acting as a consulting unit within the organization and responsible of all new and renovation projects resulting reducing the cost of the ongoing projects by almost 40%. The unit was responsible of all projects phases starting from initiation - preparing specifications and design drawings - tendering process - selecting and supervising contractors - testing and commissioning until the final handing over.
Achievements:
Executed few projects with budgets varying between $1 million - $30 million such like: replacing the MV switchgear at main power complex substation with GIS circuit breakers - new departure side conveyers system and control - replacing the aircrafts guidance signs on taxiway to comply with ICAO regulations - renovation of the duty free shop - renovation of the first floor airside entrance and façade lighting.
Worked as a Head of Electrical and AFL Section between 1996 till 2004. I was held responsible for the maintenance and 24/7 operation and trouble shooting of electrical distribution system including MV/LV substations - standby generators - transformers - UPS and battery backup, and other different electrical systems such like: Motor Control Centers - BMS system - arrival and departure conveyers - lifts - escalators - moving walkways - telescopic gangways - fire alarm - security system - air conditioning - 400 HZ aircrafts generators - Automatic Cargo Handling System, and Control System of Runway Lighting (AFL lighting and control system).
Achievements:
- Upgraded the existing manual maintenance program and applied a new cost effective CMMS software (Maintenance Co-coordinator) to accomplish a fully computerized annual maintenance and scheduling program/ records of spare parts / tools / human resources. This follow-on automatic issuing of daily work orders and re-ordering of spares reaching the minimum level to maintain a better utilization of human and material resources, reduce paper work, and increase productivity with zero recorded accidents.
- Outsourced and managed few projects under $1 million from issuing, writing specifications, tendering till final handing-over.
- Direct supervision of the staff to carry out complicated troubleshooting of the no-break standby and the 400 Hz power generators control systems.
- Recruited and trained \[45 nos.\] of staff of different nationalities to maintain electrical and runway lighting systems at the airport with annual maintenance budget of $2 million (wages not included).
- Coached trained and mentored/evaluated total 20 nos. trainee students from Al-Ain Faculty of Engineering.
