Direct and supervise more than 20 IT professionals who are responsible to maintain IT services for the BUE's campus which includes about 4500 users in addition to 20 computer labs of 300 PC.
Develop strategic plans and implement the objectives of the information technology needs of the university to ensure the computer capabilities are responsive to the needs of the university’s growth and objectives
Direct and manage computing and information technology strategic plans, policies, programs, and schedules for business and education data processing, computer services, network communications, and management information services to accomplish the university goals and objectives.
Direct the information and data integrity of the university and its education units.
Develop and establish operating policies and approaches for computing and information technology.
Evaluate overall operations of computing and information technology functions and recommend enhancements.
Involving in the university objectives and budget preparation to facilitate the orderly and efficient capture, storage, processing, and dissemination of information.
Interact with faculties’ deans on internal and external operations impacted by the capture, storage, processing, and dissemination of information.
Review significant contracts for computing and information technology services and equipment.
Ensure that the security of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment is up to standard levels.
Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.
Responsible for the development, review, and certification of all backup and disaster recovery procedures and plans.
Developed & manage all service desk policies & producers (following the ITIL standards).
Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the university.
Assess new computing technologies to determine the potential value for the university & its education facilities.
Oversee ongoing improvements and the feasibility of system enhancements.
Establish campus infrastructure to support and guide individual divisions/departments/sites in university and information technology efforts.
Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
Serve on planning and policy-making committees.
Major projects accomplished:
• Domain Migration for 800 PC (automation profile migration) + mail migration for 2500 mailboxes.
• Establish a 34 MB internet connection.
• Implement a WIFI (mesh topology) solution that covers the entire campus using Tropos technology.
• Implement & install campus E-gate system for staff & students access.
• Implement a staff attendance system based on RFID & fingerprint technology.
• Migrate email system from local exchange server to office 365 using Microsoft ADFS & SSO service.
• Network upgrades include VLANs, IP addressing & LAN security.
• Set up BUE’s e-learning solution over Microsoft cloud service. (the first enterprise in Egypt to use MS cloud service )
• Set up BUE’s campus infrastructure in terms of design & implementation.
• Set up BUE’s information technology policy.
Support and maintain a large-scale production networks and systems, including the design and development of tools and scripts to assist such maintenance. \n \nIntegrate and/or consolidate servers and services between different business units and technologies, including the design and development of the necessary integration tools. \n \nDesign, integrate, and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, mail systems, active directory, and virtual private networks and firewalls applications. \n \nDesign and develops high-performance groups of servers for resource-intensive network applications. \n \nDesign archive and backup systems. Work closely with technical staff to insure that backup and archiving designs and procedures are implemented properly. \n \nPlan and implements system security policy, to include firewalls, host and client access, filepermissions, and user accounts. \nDevelop best practices, operational procedures and design documentation \n \nPlan and coordinate system utilization, and perform growth analysis and capacity planning. \n \nReview current systems and makes technical/process recommendations for Barmagiah’s clients - improving efficiency. \n \nPlan and manage multiple IT projects for Barmagiah’s clients . \n \nProvide on-call support advice and technical support to various \n users/clients regarding operational/applications issues. \n \nInstall and debug new and/or upgraded software on server and client platforms. \n \nTroubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems. \n \nStay up to date with relevant state- of-the-art technology, \nequipment, and/or systems, Evaluate new hardware and software technologies, and present analysis and purchase recommendations to Barmagiah’s clients

Each contains head office & 2 branches at least. \n \nProvide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems for the company network. \nFacilitate communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within the organization. \nOversee the back office computer operations of the affiliate management information system, including local area networks and wide- area networks. \nResponsible for the management of multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, imaging, and office automation. \nDesign, implement, and evaluate the systems that support end users in the productive use of computer hardware and software. \nDevelop and implement user-training programs. \nOversee and evaluate system security and back up procedures. Supervise the Network & helpdesk Administrators. \nDevelop and implement company VOIP (voice over IP) infrastructure. \n \nMajor projects accomplished: \n \n• Main company building infrastructure \n• Manage all SW installation using Microsoft servers such as ( AD 2003, exchange 2003, ISA 2004/06) \n• Designing data warehouse HW, SW plan \n• Data warehouse implementation \n• Branch office solution design up to 13 countries \n• Communication design between country offices & head office including VOIP \n• Consultancy service to all franchise branches (design & implement) \n• Supervise compliance with company regulation against branch office with IT polices
