- Develop ERC’s corporate information and communication technology strategy and systems to support and proactively enhance ERC’s mission and core objectives.
- Provide advice on ICT strategy development for other departments with ICT staff and teams that are outside of Corporate ICT.
- Define and develop the long and short-term information and communication plans in line with overall ICT strategy.
- Manage the implementation of the annual information and communication technology plans and ensure that objectives are achieved in line with these plans.
- Provide direction to subordinates and support in achievement of their job requirements through education, managing performance, motivation, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to ensure a positive work climate that maximizes subordinate and departmental performance.
- Manage the process of preparing ERC’s annual ICT budget and ensure that the budget reflects estimated ICT expenditures.
- Assist other departments with ICT information that may directly influence other departmental budgets.
- Monitor actual ICT expenditures against the approved annual budget and provide justifications, if required, and ensure that the organization is aware of information communication and technology cost implications.
-Prepare strategic and operational plans for the ICT department to meet the requirements of the business and contribute to the achievement of short and long-term goals of the company.
-Design, plan and manage ICT infrastructure and networks to ensure the hardware infrastructure and software applications are fully functional and cover all operational demands of the business.
-Oversee ICT special projects, including planning, scheduling, managing and progress reporting for new system implementations
-Analyze business requirements and develop solutions to meet the required business functions
-Manage and provide oversight for the implementation of an ICT security strategy and disaster recovery plan that minimizes the risk of data loss.
-Develop, manage and monitor ICT departmental annual budget, priorities & objectives.
-Ensure development, implementation and maintenance of all policies related to ICT services, including asset management.
-Ensure ICT systems comply with regulatory and legal requirements
-Maintain the company’s on-site applications systems, network and hardware infrastructure, ensuring their proper operation according to security regulations and company corporate ICT standards.
-Perform daily on-site system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes.
-Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs.
-Identify opportunities and suggest solutions or upgrades that will support the business operations more efficiently
-Identify and provide appropriate training to staff in order to enhance their skills and knowledge
-Present IT systems including hardware devices and software applications to potential customers
-Respond to RFPs and tender by preparing technical and financial bids and offers to potential customers
-Install and Implement IT systems such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft ISA, Symantec Backup Exec, etc
-Provide ongoing customer support related to the installed systems/ solutions
