Geotechnical Engineer
Participates in the preparation of geotechnical investigation programmes, review of campaign results and providing geotechnical recommendations and reports, and design of geotechnical and foundation systems, including coordination with other trades and preparation of specifications and other technical design documents.
- Implementing policies, goals, objectives, and procedures and providing support during their development as needed.
- Overseeing the implementation of operation plans, policies, procedures and transition/migration plans.
- Preparing daily drilling work programme, and issuing work orders to drillers in accordance with project specifications and contractual agreements.
- Ensuring Clients' requirements are carried out in accordance with contract specifications, policies and procedures.
- Conducting offsite inspection visits and preparing site inspection reports.
- Collecting data by utilising various types of field instrumentation such inclinometers, piezometers and settlement monitoring devices.
- Conducting visual inspections of obtained soil rock and rock samples.
- Preparing laboratory testing programmes for geotechnical investigations.
- Preparing geotechnical reports in compliance with related standard test methods and Clients' requirements.
- Organising records and files for plans and ongoing projects, including incoming and outgoing correspondences, project specifications and drawings, laboratory test forms and all related ISO forms.
- Preparing technical and financial proposals.
- Performing laboratory analyses and field tests using computer programmes.
- Following-up on the implementation of safety regulations and protection measures on site.
- Following-up on the implementation of field and laboratory plans and programmes.
- Producing maps (subsurface profiles) of soil types and their distribution.
- Design, analysis and conducting calculations for various shallow and deep foundation systems for various types of structures
- Design and analysis of various permanent and temporary earth retaining systems such as concrete gravity, soldier beam and lagging and sheet pile walls, along with associated slope stability analysis utilising several computerised solution techniques.
- Instructing the drillers on the drilling methodology and tools.
- Planning and programming site investigation works, taking into consideration any related obstacles such as accessibility and existing structures.
- Preparing Project Quality Plan (PQP) for large scale projects, and following-up on project expenses.
Geotechnical Engineer
