(Behavior of beam- slab systems with variable stiffness's) This thesis investigates the effects of the beam and the slab parameters on the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beam-slab systems under static loads. Specifically, influence of the ratio of the slab thickness to the beam depth (ts/tb), the rectangularity ratio (R = L/B) and the ratio of the short slab length to the beam depth (Lshort /tb) on the resulting stresses, deformations and strains of RC beam-slab systems. The numerical analyses were carried out using the finite element method employing the Straus7 computer software. A new factor Z was introduced to determine the efficiency of beams acting as slab supports.
