working closely with departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures;
liaising with a wide range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety;
recruiting staff - this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates;
disciplinary procedures and absence management;
preparing staff handbooks;
advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits;
undertaking regular salary reviews;
interpreting and advising on employment law;
Carryout necessary checks and visa arrangements for guests and staff.
Deal with all enquiries in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone or via e-mail.
Administer all reservations, cancellations and no-shows, in line with company policy.
Conduct regular security checks throughout the day and report any security issues to line manager.
Keep up to date with current promotions and hotel pricing, to provide information to guests, on request, while maximizing bedroom sales opportunities.
Update room revenue and summary transactions.
Carryout necessary checks and visa arrangements for guests and staff.
Answer calls professionally and respond to customer queries.
Handle and resolve customer complaints.
Provide customers with product and service information.
Process orders, forms and applications.
Identify and escalate priority issues.
