Provides Project Management, Design Management, expertise and proposal services for large water projects in the Middle East and Africa such as the “Million Fadan Irrigation System” project in Egypt and “Updating of Extreme rainfall IDF curves and the Definition of New Storm Drainage Guidelines” in Saudi Arabia. Collaborated across departments and regional businesses to deliver engineering and technical solutions for complex problems. Developed sophisticated financial approaches to put on track commercially defaulting projects.
Provides Project Management, Design Management, expertise and proposal services for infrastructures and significant developments projects of water and sustainability-related projects such as the “Flood Protection System” program in Qatar, “Local Roads and Drainage Program” in Qatar, “Flood Protection Program for KSA” in KSA.
- Delivered, as Project Manager, the Saudi National Flood Protection Scheme Program (Client: Saudi Geological Survey Authority -SGS-, Jeddah - Saudi Arabia), on schedule and below budget with a net profit of 37%.
- Introduced, as Project Manager, the concept of sustainable surface water drainage in an urban area by using advanced 2D hydrodynamic modelling. This approach decreased the construction cost of the surface drainage of around 230Ha area (Riyadh, Arriyadh Development Authority -ADA-, Saudi Arabia), from 37.5 million SAR to 1.5 million SAR.
In charge of stormwater drainage projects in Riyadh and developing a design team in Mouchel’s Riyadh new office. Besides, successfully provided technical assistance to the Client during the Construction phase of the project. During my collaboration with Mouchel, I have:
- Introduced and implemented, as Design Manager, a new infrastructure design methodology by making use of 3D design approach and developing interfaces between modelling applications and drafting software. This approach increased the design performance by 30% and reduced the drafting time by more than 60%,
- Achieved, as Design Manager, the development of the infrastructure design team for Riyadh office, by developing a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural design team and rounding all eventual conflicts, forming after less than four months a successful and dynamic design team,
- Successfully, as Design Manager, delivered more than 40km of surface drainage network drainage per week at a Detailed Design level by following the design procedure I implemented for Mouchel’s design offices in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi,
- Eliminated, as Project Manager, a large part of future projects’ risks by clearly defining and flagging all critical aspects and parameters of the efforts to be conducted. Identifying new probable issues and provide workarounds, innovative solutions and procedures that are registered as lessons learnt
As Deputy Project Manager and Team Leader, in charge of large scale projects, the design infrastructures aspects and the technical assistance to the Client during the construction of the construction phase.
- Decreased by 60%, as Senior Infrastructure Team Leader, the construction cost of the surface drainage system of KAIA Jeddah International Airport, by the reusing the excavated soil to avoid large reinforced concrete structures for the storm pond and significant collectors,
- Contributed, as Deputy Project Manager and Team Leader, to the delivery of multi-disciplinary large scale projects at different stages.
