Working as a I & C Commissioning Engineer, ensuring that pre/ commissioning are carried out in accordance with the Basis of Design, as per project specifications & quality standards in the Oman.
Execute Commissioning activities associated to the E&I, this may involve schematic checks, loop checking, logic inspection, verify alarm/set points, interlock testing, establish data links to foreign devices (via fieldbus, programmable logic solver and independent processors), walk downs.
Apply design changes, changes to scoped drawings, produces NCRs/RFIs FCDs, redlines, and associated rework and retesting coordination.
Identifies DCS and E&I technical issues and raises queries to the Lead DCS Testing Engineer.
Work with subcontractors, supplier representatives & other discipline teams to ensure proper documentation of testing.
Working experience of I&C systems, DCS, SIS & F&G Schinder (Foxboro) systems.
Knowledge of instrumentation installation, calibration, loop checking and review the pre-commissioning & Commissioning procedures.
Working as a I & C Pre Commissioning Engineer, ensuring that pre/ commissioning are carried out in accordance with the Basis of Design, as per Alumina Refinery project specifications & quality standards in the United Arab Emirates.
Support pre-commissioning team activities associated to the E&I, this may involve schematic checks, loop checking, logic inspection, verify alarm/set points, interlock testing, establish data links to foreign devices (via fieldbus, programmable logic solver and independent processors), walk downs.
Execute specific specialist pre- commissioning activities associated to DCS, PIMS and SCMS (in coordination with system engineers- Both Redside and Whiteside) such as establishing DCS detailed interfaces with other plant automation systems such as third party PLCs.
Apply design changes, changes to scoped drawings, produces NCRs/RFIs FCDs, redlines, and associated rework and retesting coordination.
Lead craft supervision for a wide range of DCS and E&I equipment, schematic and loop checks, system testing & pre-commissioning activities.
Update scoped drawings and databases; whilst coordinating with the Completions Department Turnover Coordinator. This includes input of any required changes into TEAMWorks and SetRoute.
Applies DCS and E&I testing documentation and procedures and supports management of change, updating and tracking (working in conjunction with the specific document owners).
Identifies DCS and E&I technical issues and raises queries to the Lead DCS Testing Engineer.
Work with subcontractors, supplier representatives & other discipline teams to ensure proper documentation of testing.
Supports LOTO activities during work preparation, and confirms 100% compliance of craft sign on/off.
Supports the Lead DCS Testing Engineer with component information for E&I Field Material Requisitions
Works with pre-commissioning system engineers for Site Acceptance Tests, and performance for some systems
Working experience of I&C systems, DCS Honeywell (Experion) systems and Rio Tinto Alcan technology.
Knowledge of E&I requirements for completion of construction and testing of Compressors, Process Pumps and Fans, together with DCS.
Knowledge of instrumentation installation, calibration, loop checking and review the pre-commissioning procedures.
Knowledge of process electrical isolation to perform safe DCS and I&C tasks.
Knowledge & experience in PTW, STARRT, JHA, LOTO procedures & practices.
Leadership skills & able to supervise craft for testing, and pre-commissioning activities.
Experience in SetRoute, Teamworks, and Infoworks in the execution of work assignments.
Commissioning & Maintenance working on Habshan Sulphur Granulation project (GASCO)
Work together for Commissioning and Start up activities with Vendor Packages (Sulphur station & Utility) and Enersul Canada (Sulphur Granulation Package).
Having Calibration and Specific Trouble-shooting experience in the following Instruments.
Conveyor Weighing scale (Siemens, kubota), Control Valve (masoline, Emerson, rotex) Pressure, Temperature, Flow, level transmitter (Rosemount, Yokogawa, Foxboro, honeywell) & Pressure Switches
Inform construction and pre-commissioning / commissioning work sequences according to system priorities and highlight critical works to facilitate planned commissioning activities.
DCS/ESD Functional Logic checks and ESD cause and Effect checks before start-up
Attends Quality Audits, punch list walk downs, identify punch list items, and support close out
Evaluate and resolve any field design problems, drawing discrepancies and coordinate such matters to client.
Successful commissioning and start-up of all packages and equipments in the plant likeSulphur Granulation (Enersul Canada), Air dryer, Stacker/Reclaimer(FAM), Wet Scrubber (Enropole) Fuel Gas system, Boilers and Sulphur Recovery unit’s, RO Units, Cooling water system, Nitrogen system, Functional TestControl Logic System (Yokogawa Centum YP) to complete the Site acceptance test activities
To Handle and Operate the Gxs unit and Stacker/Reclaimer for Granulated sulphur.
Commissioning Activities like Loop check, Logic & functional check, Cause and effect check, Control system, Siemens DCS and ESD, Sprinkler And Deluge valve systems, Public addressing system, Endress &Hauser Magnetic and Mass Flow meters, Radar instruments, Burner Instruments and other system including Smoke detector, Heat Detector, Gas Detectors Manual Call Points, IR3 Flame detector, VESDA
Preparation of survey reports as per as per plant Interface requirement and its BOQ's.
Preparation and Designing of 33/11kV Substation Single Line Diagram (SLD) according to customer specification, Preparation of Protection and Metering Diagram.
Preparation of Interface engineering drawings, Signal list and Cable Termination Schedule for existing SCADA Interface Panel.
Preparation of Existing C&R Panel Drawing of switchgears and interfacing with ABB SCADA System.
Maintaining HSE standards at work all the time
Ensuring HSE guidelines being followed by the team and providing proper training to all team members for compliance
Well trained in all HSE trainings and was approved permit applicant in MEDC plants.
Preparing of General Arrangement and Scheme drawings for Control & Relay panels by selecting properTransducer, relays and other plant interface equipments as per customer technical specification using AutoCAD package
Preparation and Designing of All Protection Schemes for power transformers, switchgears & motors e.g.Overcurrent/Distance/Differential/Pilot Wire/Auto Reclosure/Restricted Earth Fault Protection
Having Calibration and Specific Trouble-shooting experience in the following Instruments.
Smart Transmitter (HART) Pressure, Temperature, Flow, level(Rosemount,
Yokogawa, Foxboro, honeywell) &Control Valve (Fisher, Emerson, Mestro) Multivariable type transmitters & different type elements, MOV(Rotark), Interface level transmitters (magnetrol) & Pressure Switches.
Coordinate with client (Saipem, Italy / Snamprogetti S.A.) Engineering department personnel and Site Superintendent to expedite the work.
Functional testing and commissioning of Fire and Gas System Instruments H2S, HC, Flame detector, Heat and Smoke detector, Manual Alarm Call point.
Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning of Rosemount Analyzers (PH, Conductivity, O2, SO2, CO2 &silca).
Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning of Smart Transmitters (HART) (Yokogawa, Rosemount, Foxboro, Honeywell), Control Valves (Fisher, Emerson, Mestro) and Biffi Emergency Shutdown valves, Bently Nevada Vibration Monitors (3500 Series), Interface level transmitters (Magnetrol), Motor Operated Valve (Rotark), Mass Flow Meter & Pressure Switches.
Working experience inYokogawa Centum CS 3000, panel erection and commissioning of DCS, maintenance of DCS cards viz. Power supply unit, FCS, SCS, I/O cards DIN boards and installation of field bus system.
