I am the Technical Advisor to the Plant related to all HSSE, Process, Procedures, ISO Implementation, education and development and leadership development. I am the Champion for Six Sigma, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO 55001 as well as ISO 9001. Oversee the completion and on time Budget proposals as well as all HSSE Framework development and implementation.
Strategic Objectives
1. Achieve Self Funded Budget through retaining a minimum number of Trainees & the generation of alternative income through investments.
2. Develop & implement Financial Control Systems (budget & forecasts).
3. Ensure the delivery of an Accredited Student Learning System inclusive of valid and reliable English, Technical and short course Programmes.
4. Project management and project skills to manage and deliver transformation initiatives.
5. Develop & Implement a fully effective & integrated Management System ensuring the development of all policies & procedures against set deadlines.
6. Budget planning and contract
management skills to support leading all aspects of the procurement of services
7. To obtain, train & retain Professional Employees through doing training needs analysis & career development plan implementation against set deadlines.
8. Develop & implement a full Contractor Management System, ERP System, Warehousing, Procurement and Distribution System inclusive of Policies & Procedures around Purchasing, RFP’s & Procurement.
9. Develop & implement a Business Plan inclusive of a detailed Marketing plan.
10. Ensure the deliverables of the Academic Service provider is met in fulfilling our Sponsor (Customer) requirements of professional graduates.
11. Maintain and improve partnership with Sponsors old and prospective.
12. Supports Strategic Direction and achievement in the design, development, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of development programs.
13. Manage all section / department heads to maximize out comes and to ensure targets are met.
14. Accountable for all Operational activities on Campus.
15. Last but not least; to ensure that Maximum Trainee Satisfaction is reached.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop & implement organizational strategies, policies & practices; establish internal procedures to maintain high standards of training ensuring organizational efficiency & service quality. Develop and implement Institutes Policies and Procedures (academic & operational).
2. Effective operations through a performance management system.
3. Oversee financial, administrative, warehousing, distribution & HR management planning, increase the effectiveness of support services.
4. Coordinate organization’s budgeting & planning with the ED & ExCom.
5. Prepare annual budget and review financial statements.
6. Oversee invoicing to funding sources & payroll management.
7. Develop and implement Internal Audit policies & Best Practices models.
8. Ensure continuous cycle counting implemented & audited in warehouse.
9. Ensure the reliability of Technical Curricula through R&D & audits.
10. Develop and implemented a professional CV management System
11. Develop & implemented training needs analysis for all employees
12. Implement ERP System (Enterprise Resources Planning)

• Manage Cross Border Activities / Operations into Africa (Road, Air & Sea) inclusive of bonded and free warehousing for clients like Woolworths, Truworths, TFG (Foschini) and Cape Union Mart (Cross border 3 PL solution).
. Company’s main adviser on all issues relating to
operational functions and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position.
• Accountable for all of the above plus the aggressive expansion of this service (added Woolworths and Adidas to my client list).
. Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that a safe and healthy working environment is maintained at all company sites.
• The 3PL solution provided included transportation (road, air and sea), warehousing, cross-docking, inventory management, packaging, and freight forwarding.
• Warehousing solutions provided included multiple warehousing facilities inside South Africa as well as in countries like Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Lesotho and Zambia.
• Ensuring that all stock holding (warehousing) prior to dispatching across International Borders are up to Customs specifications and facilitating Customs inspections in multiple bonded and free warehouse locations inside and outside South Africa.
. Direct and control the warehousing and distribution functions to
ensure that customers are supplied with the right quantities of goods at the right times.
• Cross docking, re-packaging multiple clients inventory prior to loading under customs supervision for transportation by road, sea or airfreight.
• Continuous Route Optimization to African Countries for RTT-Style’s Clients - Common Customs Countries & Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Angola, Zambia .
• Most important objective was to ensure the total self-sufficiency & above all profitable cost center that was the Cross Border Department in RTT-Style.
• All International Departments, warehouses, clearing agents and freight forwarding reported into my position as well as taking full accountability for client relationships (thus ensuring al SMART objectives and directives driven to completion within set time limits of the overall Strategic Objectives).
• Ensure that the required service levels, the expected performance and quality of service to be delivered are in place
• Took ownership all transport, warehousing, cross docking (3PL) of all Cross Border Operations for RTT- Style and its clients, Woolworths, Truworths, TFG, Cape Union Mart etc.
• Manage all insurance claims, transport and warehousing related.
• Evaluate all SOP’s, standardize in ISO 9000 format and implement in warehousing and cross docking facilities.
• Headed all Special Projects in Warehousing (3PL), Operations and New Business and ensured that a “bundled” 3PL solution was presented to optimize the service rendered to the Client.
• Solely responsible and accountable for all Cross Border 3rd Party Service Providers including their transport, clearing and forwarding and most importantly their warehousing facilities and the building out of this service.
• Assist and form part of all new Costing Projects (Strategic Costing Team for a complete 3PL solution to Truworths, Foschini (TFG) and Woolworths)
• Implement & manage the Monthly National Fleet Management System integrated in the warehousing and cross docking services.
• Breaking down high level written communications for internal clients (staff), training and motivating staff in the principles of warehousing, cross docking and seamless supply chain management.
• Build close relationships with major International Clients in selling them a 3PL Cross Border solution into the Common Customs Countries, SADAC countries and also countries outside Africa.
• Build, develop and entrench a high performance culture within the Supply Chain Operations (3PL) by providing leadership, guidance, support, costing management and taking accountability for all expenses.
• Manage the Supply Chain Operation (3PL), all section heads EE targets, integrated performance management, talent management, succession planning, best practices and product enhancement.
KPI’s & Responsibilities:
• Procedures: Analyze and update all existing written warehousing procedures (ISO 9001 & 18001) + Cold Chain Integrity
• Receiving of Stock: Physical Audit trail implemented.
• Storage of Finished Goods: Re-look at the Racking, packing, packaging, cross docking and inventory management inside the warehouse.
• Loss & Shortages: Set up Audit trails, Best Practices, checks & balances.
• Night Shifts: Re-look at functions of Night shift and eliminate this function from the warehouse.
• Layout -Warehousing: Analyzed the Organogram for the FGS & Distribution brought in an integrated service model / Cold Chain (closer to 3PL).
• Distribution of Finished Goods: On-Time, Just-on-Time, FIFO Principles implemented and integrated into the inventory management System.
• International Distribution: Evaluate physical evidence of all contracts, reevaluate and brought the freight forwarder and clearing agent into a 4PL solution.
• Implement best business practices: E.g. the response to customers.
• Analyzing of existing contract with 3rd Parties to establish liability (2 PL).
• ERP System, Old & New (SYSPRO): updating the new SYSPRO System.
• Audits, General & Year End: Adjust & implement soundproof Cycle counts.
• Budgets: Break down of the total budget allocated and control thereof.
• Cold Chain: Ensuring a consistent and value adding Cold Chain flow.
• Provide the development of the BU’s 1 yr operating plan & budget.
• Ensure local and national service level of no less than 98% per client (warehouse to client - included the successful interface between Stores, Warehouse and distribution or Transport line).
• Civil & Construction manager for all 6 Restaurants from Planning to handover (Design, layout, drawings, civil & installation).
• Ensure effective utilization of the resources to do on time delivery (2 PL which evolved into a 3 PL solution through Berry & Donaldson in Montague Gardens).
• Ensures that proper partnerships were set in place with Clients.
• Drive operational (warehousing and distribution) excellence, deadlines & deliverables through scorecards
• Daily review volumes & ensuring optimal planning to meet agreed objectives (cross docking, destination planning and effective warehousing).
• Manage and integrate the delivery of Service Level Agreement (SLA).
• Ensured SHEQ was maintained and NOSA 5 Star rating was aimed for.
• Manage the end-to-end processes and continuously reduce costs (driving the 3PL provider for better service)!
• Ensure product integrity e.g. on time delivery, FIFO, delivery follow ups.
• Build & entrench a high performance Supply Chain Operations culture.
