As a staff registered nurse caring for patients with Cancer, i am able to care for, monitor and educate cancer patients. Once in a while i do home visits to bed ridden patients and performs various health care duties such as:

-giving medications

I often work one-on-one with patients in clinic and private home settings.
Able to administer radiation chemotherapies to patients under the supervision of seniors. Responsible for examining pre-treatment needs as well as recording the health history and progress of patients. I was able to evaluate and achieve health related goals and worked in collaboration with families and health professionals.

Emergency Department Volunteer Nurse at Santa Rosa Community Hospital

Being a volunteer nurse in a government hospital is such a privilege, I had a year of experience in the Emergency Hospital in Santa Rosa Community Hospital in the Philippines. I had the chance to handle every trauma cases possible. I was able to assist first hand to each situations. Even though i was a volunteer nurse, they let me perform exactly what the staff/hired nurses can do from the most basic up to the most complex. From the usual assessment, triaging and obtaining the vital signs and patient history.

The main duties of an Emergency / Trauma Nurse include:

Providing care to patients in an emergency situation.
Administering emergency procedures e.g. code blue and CPR.
Acting fast and thinking on their feet.
Handling complex and difficult situations.
Operating healthcare machines.

I am able to ensure that the physiological, psychosocial, safety, learning, rehabilitative and spiritual needs of the patient and his/her family are addressed.
Was able to evaluate the episodic and acute responses to broad classifications of physical or psychosocial issues. I provide emergency medical care to patients as per the instructions of physician or surgeon. I am responsible for the management of the nursing diagnoses, medical assessments and for follow up checkup if possible.
