Full-time ESP Teacher

September 2005 - June 2007

Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology

Tunisia

September 2005 - June 2007

I taught ESP for two-years professional licence students specialised in Automatics of Industrial Systems, Maintenance of Heavy Engines, and New and Renewable Energies.
I tried to make them familiar with the kind od English they are expected to need, to meet in their professional careers, and that employers would like to find them master it. Together with this, I tried to make them know how to build their especially professional CVs, how to write letters of applications and how to deal with employers in interview situations and how to make computer-based job search and hunting.
I was teaching at first and second levels of higher education (bac+2) and I was at the same time the teacher, the syllabus maker, the executor, the examiner and the assessor. Moreover, I was responsible for all the English lessons presented in the Institute as I was charged with programmes making.

Master's degree, Linguistics

Tunisia

GPA (percentage): 75%

GPA (percentage): 75%

My MA in English Theoretical and Applied was a two-year postgraduate programme of study. In the first year, we were taught many courses in linguistics (Sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, Forensic Linguistics, Critical Discourse Analysis, Pragmatics, Syntax, Semantics, Literary Stylistics, ... etc). In the second year, we were required to write up a thesis about a topic of our choice under the guidance of one supervisor. My research topic was revolving around the investigation of how Arab adolescents get impacted by the physical and verbal violence in US subtitled movies aired on the mbc 2 TV channel. As such, it was a mixed quantitative/qualitative piece of writing in which I developed a Neurocognitive Model of cross-cultural physical and verbal violence acquisition.
