As the Operation Manager and part of the project
commissioning team, my responsibility was for review and
accept various procedures, and attends all
friability/performance plant test, and report directly to the
general Manager. I was responsible for the production and
operation of a large-scale drinking water desalination
facility with the main objective of sustaining 24h/7d
uninterrupted operation. I assured appropriate
communication with the operation team, contractor and
the relevant authorities, and controlled the performance of
the plant and all equipment, essentially the membranes
which must in good conditions regarding the pre-treatment
of raw water. Additionally, I ensured the proper functioning
of utility equipment such as Air Compressors, chemical
dosing units, and firefighting system (fire detectors and
pumps). To test the efficiency of our firefighting system,
we triggered simulations of fire scenario in coordination
with the city’s firefighting department four times a year.
The plant operates under digital control system
YOKOGAWA CS3000 with seven panel logic control
cabins. I developed excellent client relationships, and
organize biannual meetings with all partners (O&M,
OWNER and CLIENT) to discuss the planning of annual
shutdown maintenance. I gained valuable experience in
the reverses osmosis process.
As part of project commissioning team, my responsibilities
was for review and accept various documents, witness
various commissioning reports, Reliability operation
including performance guarantee tests and provisional &
final taking over of the plant equipment. I gained valuable
experience in the Cross-tube Multistage Flash over type
Evaporators capacity 1234m3/h (03 Desalination units)
with Brine re-circulation system. Well versed in the startup,
normal operation, emergency operation, shutdown
and preservation techniques.
Preparation, line-up, lighting-up & operating the HEAT
RECOVERY STEAM GENERATION (220 Tn/h
196°C@14 bar) monitoring the parameters, meet out the
emergencies, shutdown procedures and preservations
techniques. Preparations, warming up & rolling the GAS
TURBINE in cold & hot mode, synchronizing the
GENERATOR (3x120 MW) into 220 kV grid load up to
maximum rating, supervision during operation &
monitoring the parameters such as MW, MVAR, Voltage,
and Frequency in co-ordination with load control center,
handling emergencies and shutdown procedures of T/G. I
gained valuable experience in the operation, protection
and interlocks of 220 kV grid feeders, three Transformers
units TP 14.25/220 kV and three transformers units MT
14.25/6.6 kV. My responsible was for isolation / deisolation
& normalization of plant equipment and issuance
& cancellation of work permits.
I gained valuable experience and large knowledge, in the
seawater cooling system, firefighting system, DCS
YOKOGAWA SC3000 and PLC.
