plan and deliver clear, pedagogically and professionally sound lessons.
• maintain a current, relevant and engaging curricula (by sourcing appropriate additional
resources to supplement lessons) at all times throughout the allocated teaching period.
• maintain respect and responsibility for all teaching resources and teaching areas allocated
for lessons.
• participate in the continuing review of curriculum content, teaching methods and methods
of student assessment.
• conduct examinations, and participate in the preparation, correction and assessment of
examination papers and assignments.
• prepare clear, pedagogically and professionally sound documentation and reports and
submit in the time frames stipulated by the accountable / reporting Manager.
teaching up to 25 hours per week;
• preparation of lessons;
• Harnessing the benefits of digital resources to deliver engaging, interesting and interactive
lessons by using various platforms such as, LMS, Smart Notebook and Socraive.
• marking of homework and class work;
• preparation, administration and marking of placement,
achievement and proficiency tests;
• assessment and reporting of student performance;
• development of supplementary materials for core syllabuses or for special courses such
as English for medical and academic purposes;
• attending staff meetings and/or workshops;
• preparing students for IELTS exams;
• assisting with the running of public examinations;
• Contributing to teacher training and development (observations and workshops)

Principal duties:
• Making students achieve their learning goals by setting measurable and attainable objectives;
• Producing comprehensive schemes of work;
• Preparing coherent lesson plans with clear aims and objectives;
• Preparing appropriate resources (giving prior notice to technicians of equipment / materials
/ software required for the class, preparing hand outs where appropriate);
• Ensuring all classroom activities are conducted in a safe manner;
• Establishing strategies for lateness;
• Keeping accurate records;
• Establishing action plan, coursework, homework and assessments where appropriate;
• Following the College Charter commitment that all work is marked and appropriate
designing courses appropriate to the learner group;
• identifying the needs of learners and adapting teaching methods where necessary;
• preparing session or lesson plans appropriate to the size and type of learner group;
• developing and preparing appropriate learning materials;
• evaluating the outcomes of an individual's learning through formal assessment or informal
methods and ensuring constructive feedback is given;
• preparing information for inspection visits and other quality assurance exercises;
• collecting information and course fees from students;
• liaising with administrative staff over room bookings, ordering equipment and enrolling
learners;
• keeping up to date with relevant subject area(s) through further training and/or appropriate
reading and private study;
• liaising with a range of providers to develop appropriate education provision
