Description of power station:-
Total capacity of Station 640 MW Power generation and 28 MIGD water production.The station consists mainly of 5 gas turbine sets, 2 steam turbine sets, 5 waste heat recovery boilers, 2 auxiliary boilers and 4 desalination plants
There are three nos. 140MVA; GE model PG9151 supplied by AEG 10.5KV Gas Turbines Generators, 3nos. Waste Heat Recovery Boilers, 2 nos. Auxiliary Boilers and 4 Desalination plant (Co- Generation) . These gas turbine units are named as GT-E1, GT-E2 & GT-E3 and are having “base” load capacity of 90 MW each at site condition. .There are 2nos. 112.575 MVA, GEC-ALSTOM, GE model PG9161 Supplied by Alsthom France Make, 11.5KV Gas Turbines Generators, one 140MVA, ABB make, 11.5 KV Steam Turbines Generator and 2nos. Waste Heat Recovery Boilers (combined cycle). These gas turbine units are named as GT-E4 & GT-E5 having “base” load capacity of 90 MW each at site condition. They are also designed for higher output of 6 - 8 MW extra when selected for “peak” mode. The output of the generators is 11.5KV, which is fed to 132 KV sub-station via step up transformers (Generator transformer). 132KV bus is connected to the power grid. Through IBTs (Inter bus transformers), the power supply is stepped down from 132KV to 33KV and it is connected to 33KV bus. The station transformer D steps down the power supply to 6.6 KV. This power supply is used for feeding the generator auxiliaries during starting and other loads. Once the power supply of gas turbine generator is available, the loads of generator auxiliaries are transferred to the unit supply. All the two gas turbines can operate on gas fuel, on liquid fuel, or mix fuel but usually liquid fuel is kept as stand by. the steam turbine unit is named as ST E6 having “base” load capacity of 100 MW at site condition. The output of the generator is 11.5KV, which is fed to 132 KV sub-station via step up Generator transformer. 132KV bus is connected to the power grid. Through IBTs (Inter bus transformers) the power supply is stepped down from 132KV to 33KV and it is connected to 33KV bus. The station transformer E steps down the power supply to 6.6 KV. This power supply is used for feeding the generator auxiliaries during starting and other loads. Once the power supply of gas turbine generator is available, the loads of generator auxiliaries are transferred to the unit supply. The Steam Turbine plant having a capacity of 112 MW utilizes the HP/LP steam from HRSG4 & HRSG5 (Heat Recovery Steam Generator). There are three waste heat boilers each having a capacity of 250 T/H steam production at pressure of 11 bar and 184 ºC temperature and two auxiliary boilers fired on fuel gas, diesel oil or heavy fuel oil are available to produce MP steam 2*350 T/H at 11bar and then joins the MP steam header for supply to desalination plants. There are four desalination plants (MSF) evaporators, brine recirculating cross tube type; each is designed for continuous production of 7 MIGD at TBT of 105 ºC.WATER TREATMENT PLANT (Demineralization) for boiler feed water make up after treatment in mixed bed.
