Design and Construction Duties:
• Design HVAC system and perform Cooling and Heating load calculations using HAP Software
• Design review, value engineering and implementation of international codes on MEP design
• Systems worked on are: HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting, Landscape & Irrigation, Fire & Life Safety, SCADA & BMS, Vertical Transportation, Cranes, Electrical, ELV and Utilities systems
• Prepare concept design reports and draft project specifications
• Prepare of Fire & Life Safety reports based on NFPA 5000, NFPA 101, QCDD regulations and any other relevant codes
• Design coordination with project team
• Main design standards used are ASHRAE, NEC, CIBSE, SMACNA, NFPA and UL
• Provide engineering support to Quality Department to prepare Method Statements, ITPs, O&M Manuals and Material Submittals
• Lead the shop drawings production team and provide necessary technical support
• Monitor quantity surveying team
• Man-Hour estimation and planning set up
• Initiate notification of claims upon scope deviation
• Site engineers and man power management
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, consultants and client
• Commission systems and equipment
• Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE departments
• QCDD “Qatar Civil Defence Department” documentation preparation and handing over
• Report to project manager
• Collateral Duties: Project estimation
LEED Duties:
• Prepare LEED Scorecard, highlight potential systems to be adopted and provide value engineering to propose best approaches to achieve the targeted number of points
• Train project team on LEED requirements
• Work with the design engineers, quality engineers, construction engineers and procurement to make sure LEED requirements are implemented correctly
• Prepare LEED management plans for construction
• Work with Commissioning Authority for commissioning plan and material submittals approval
• Review all LEED credits before submission to the client and to LEEDOnline
• Review energy modelling report, Lighting and Day lighting analysis, shading and wind energy reports...
Management Duties:
• Prepare and manage the construction budget
• Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress
• Plan and manage the procurement process
• Develop and implement quality control programs
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports
T&C and Project Handing Over Duties
• Prepare the Project Commissioning Plan
• Prepare Project Hand Over and Documentation close out procedure
• Review Commissioning Procedures prepared by the quality engineers
• Prepare the Integrated Systems Commissioning Procedure
• Prepare Commissioning Program
• Manage Subcontractors to meet the planned dates
GPA: 3.32 Five semesters on Dean's list (honor list) at NDU (fall 2004, spring 2005, spring 2006, spring 2007, and fall 2007). Three semesters 25% academic scholarship, GPA greater than 3.4/4. I did two internships, the first as a mechanical site engineer in summer 2007, and the second as a mechanical design engineer in HVAC and plumbing for three months in 2008.
