Cross Analytics (pvt) is a subsidiary of Cross Analytics Inc, Canada.
Leading the vertical of Embedded Systems and Hardware based products, I am responsible for the conception, design and development of a health band that monitors cardiovascular activity through continuous heart rate monitoring, single lead ECG/EKG measurement, Heart Rate Variability analysis and general motion activity detection etc.
Major responsibilities include:
• Build and lead a team of Embedded software/system engineers, researcher engineers, PCB designers, android developer, MCAD professionals and consultants
• Selection and liaison with vendors, OEMs, external consultants and manufacturing plants.
• Study of currently available competing products that target the continuous cardiovascular health monitoring.
• Research and designing the hardware requirements that are compatible with FCC and CE regulations for wearable devices
• Shortlist and compare the leading SoCs and SiPs based on the functional requirements.
• Developing Embedded Firmware with FreeRTOS on Cortex - M3/M4 series MCU
• Power mode management: handling of CPU power modes
• Working with internal/external DACs/ ADCs, Bluetooth modules etc.
• Data and memory management for Cortex M4 based embedded system
• Design and implement Bluetooth LE custom and standard profiles
• Develop HW and firmware for the acquisition of Single Lead ECG/EKG for a wrist worn device
• Designing HW architecture for energy and area constrained device
• Designing software architecture for sensor data acquisition system
• Signal processing and filtration to reduce noise in the acquired ECG signal.
• Segmentation and peak detection in the acquired ECG signal to detect R peaks in the ECG waveform, for R-R analysis.
• Preparing schematics for custom solutions for both testing and development solutions
• Multi-Layer PCB designing on Altium Designer
• Hardware debugging using oscilloscope, logic analyser, DMM etc.
• Software debugging/testing using In-circuit Debuggers

- Collaborate with team leads to manage and determine priority of the work in product/project backlog
- Consult with client management to analyze system needs for management information and functional operations
- Web solutions (C#, ASP.net, MVC3/4, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, PHP, JS)
- Re-factoring existing systems to current standards or adding new business logic and features
Major responsibilities include:
- Provide application support for automation and industrial control equipment
- Configure and propose complete control/acquisition systems for client’s automation applications (Dairy and Beverages sector)
- Prepare business plan for local integration of dairy processing plant for milk pasteurization

- Development and customization of ERP/CRM solutions (Adempiere, OpenBrvo, xTuple - PostBooks and SugarCRM) for several clients in Stockholm region
- Development of Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) system for Bombardier Rail Control Solutions
- Embedded C++ consultant for On-Board Platform group Scania, Sweden
- Development of vehicle mounted control board for vehicle tracking application
- Web solutions (HTML, ASP.net, C#, MSSQL, MySQL)
- Windows Server applications and setting up client server networks and other IT services for various clients
Major responsibilities included:
- Applying SCRUM software management methods that significantly reduced project work efforts
- Managing small dynamic build teams, creating modules that meets requirements and delivers on schedule

I developed a software application for rung extraction as part of the project, ‘Upgradation of Allen Bradley PLC-3 and PLC-2 Applications with Control View HMI Application to Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC and RSViewSE HMI’.
Mechatronics is a blend of electronics, mechanics, computing, embedded systems and control, and having acquired knowledge in such a diverse subject has given me broad foundation to build on. - I was in top 10 students with overall gpa of 3.62 / 4.0. - Received merit scholarship in 7 semesters for academic distinction. - Won National Engineering Robotics Contest (NERC) held in College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Pakistan. - I was selected for internship at the completion of my studies at INTECH Process Automation.
