Manages execution and timely completion of basic engineering
projects by analyzing project scope and determining project
specifications, establishing and analyzing test programs for adequacy
and sequence, examining samples for compliance with UL
requirements. Authority for opening, maintenance, completion, and
closing of assigned new engineering projects works.
Activities:
• Determine project scope, develop a preliminary plan of investigation,
and determine project specifications such as cost, time, and sample
requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data,
and product construction. Witnessing tests.
•
• Initiate communication with clients to promote and explain the
benefits of new and existing services. Follows up on contacts from
clients. Communicate with clients to discuss technical issues, explain
UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate
completion date and sample requirements. Act to address client
concerns and to resolve client issues. Provide technical assistance to
clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services.

• Establishing appropriate test programs by reviewing files and
manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL
requirements. Become familiar with applicable standards, company
manuals and appropriate technical literature.

• Coordinate laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and
instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of
laboratory technicians and engineering assistants and establishing
completion dates. Coordinates administrative aspects of project
management.

• Communicate project status and results to clients through frequent
contact and by preparing reports. Prepare Follow-Up Service
Procedures and information pages.
• Integrate continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all
aspects of the job.
• Resolve engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by
analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the variations.

Participates in the development of UL requirements, test
methods, and test equipment. Perform Project Handler
activities as Project Handler of record responsible for opening,
maintenance, completion, and closing of assigned new work
engineering projects. Perform Review as assigned as Reviewer
of record responsible for initial review, status review, and final
technical review of all new work engineering projects.
• Offer seminar and technical presentations to the various UL
stakeholders.
• Acts to address client concerns and to resolve client issues and
provides technical assistance to clients and utilities in the
region.
• Project follow-up by conduct or witness tests at client sites.
• Work in close collaboration with the local staff of ULs
partnership lab by offering training and technical support to the
local staff.
• Review the desired standard and client’s requirements to
prepare the tests conditions and plan.
• Coordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and
instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of
Laboratory Technicians and support staff and establishing
completion dates. Coordinates administrative aspects of
project management. Serves as Project Handler of record and
Reviewer of record as assigned.
LAB Testing and Inspection Experiences:
• Perform and manage the LAB Tests and follow the Test Plan ITP
to Inspect the Quality of all kinds of Fibers through a high level
of skills using light sources and Power meters, OTDR, VFL,
Chromatic Dispersion / PMD, Splicing.
• Optical measurements (Cutoff wavelength, Mode field
diameter, Coating Measurements, Fiber curl, Core/Cladding
diameter, Spectrum attenuation, and refractive index).
• Mechanical Cables-Test (Bend, Tensile, Torsion, TC, WPT, Kink,
etc).

Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the
relevant documentation, check procedures, Standards, Data
Sheets, and equipment to be used in tests, controls and inspections, manage documents certifying tests and calibration
certification for PON OSP/ISP & FTTx components and materials
to make sure it is meet the requirements of customers.
Design, provision, documentation, and test the FTTX components
(Cables, Connectors, Splitters, Transmissions equipment, ONT, OLT,
Joint closures, and Cabinets) and Outside Plant Fiber Optic Cable
OSP (Under Ground, Aerial, Direct Buried, and Duct) manhole and
conduit design.
Completes designs in accordance to customer specifications and
guidelines. Ensures the quality of the customer’s PON FTTx
components is maintained and provides support for the
deployment of access technologies. Update customer records.
Follow the ISO QMS Quality Management System and HSE to
make sure that we met and exceeded customers’ expectations.
LAB Testing and Inspection Experiences:
