Job description: Review & approval of HV, MV & LV deign calculation, drawing & equipment, submitted by contactor for substation project & Plant.
 Major Project where presently involved.
1. Substation Projects & Plant electrical Distribution (HV/MV & LV System design & scheme).
2. BESS (Battery Energy storage study).
 Technical Expertise & Responsibilities:
• Perform FEED & feasibility study & prepare technical scope of work for new project.
• Review of design calculation, Studies, Construction/shop drawing (as below) and ensure all design & drawing submitted by contractor/manufacturer are meeting the project technical specification, SEC/Aramco/International code & standards.
• Layout & Drawing: Review & approval of layout and drawing submitted by vender such as Main & Distribution SLD & scheme, interface layouts, protection SLD, main layout, substation layout & equipment arrangement layout, area classification layout, earthing layout, lightening protection layout, cable trench, tunnel & tray layout, control room panels arrangement & detail etc.
• Calculation, Study & Detail Design: Review & approval of detail & based design submitted by contractor such as, like HV, MV & LV cable sizing, conductor sizing, SCF calculations, battery sizing, battery charger sizing, earthing design & earth mat calculations, lightning protection, SCF calculation, cantilever strength calculations, sag tension calculation, Load flow study, CT/CVT sizing etc.
• Major Equipment & Material: Review and approval of main equipment submitted by contactor such as, Transformer, Reactor, circuit breaker (CB), HV & MV Switchgear, current transformer (CT), voltage transformer (VT & CVT), Isolator, Lightning arrestor, insulators, CRP & SAS panel drawing & scheme, battery & charger, MV & HV cable etc.
• Auxiliary System Design & Calculation: Review and approve auxiliary system design & calculation such as, load calculation, auxiliary transformer & UPS sizing, indoor & outdoor lighting calculation, SCF calculation, LV cable sizing.
• Auxiliary Layout & Drawing: Review & approval of Auxiliary system drawing & layout such as, Auxiliary distribution SLD, 125V / 48V DC & auxiliary AC SLD, indoor & outdoor lighting layout, auxiliary power distribution layout & auxiliary panel drawing & control scheme etc.
• Auxiliary Equipment & Material: Review and approval of auxiliary equipment such as, Auxiliary transformer, package & unit substation, UPS, MLB panel drawing & scheme, lighting fixture, power outlet, LV & control cable, cable trays earthing material, panel drawing & control scheme etc.
• Project Coordination: Follow-up with contactor & other department for revised & pending submittals.
• Participate in review and approval meeting with contractor:
• Review & recommend updates in SEC Standard: Review & recommend additional requirement which can be consider in proposed new and in existing SEC standard (TMSS, TES),
• Manufacture & consultant prequalification: Review and approve the document and profile submitted by manufacturer and consultant for SEC approved manufacturer and consultant list for future project.
• Prepare project monthly report & status.
• I am also the part of team working on Battery Energy Storage (BES) for KSA as representative of EHV engineering & design department to review the offers from manufacturer for BES.

• Various primary calculations like conductor sizing, cantilever strength calculations, earth mat calculations, SCF calculations, spacer span, sag tension calculation, lightning protection. earthing design using ETAP, calculate line parameter using ASPEN.
• Layout drawing preparation. i.e. electrical plan, section, EKD, DSLP, earth mat, cable trench, control building & panel layout etc.
• Battery sizing, battery charger sizing, CT/CVT sizing, HV & LV cable sizing cable laying & core schedule preparation.
• Detail estimation of lot item BOQ like clamps & connectors, earthing quantity, cable quantity, auxiliary system equipment’s.
• Auxiliary system design and drawing preparation like, auxiliary load estimation & transformer/DG/UPS sizing. Indoor & outdoor illumination design. 110 & 48V DC & AC distribution board design. Indoor & outdoor, MLDB.
• Review of vendor’s equipment drawings. review of CRP/ SCADA schemes, substation automation systems. Concept note preparation, retrofitting jobs.
• Internally review and approve supplier's documents for submission to customer for approval. Coordinate with supplier and customer for timely approval
• Coordination with utility to sort out engineering issues & approval of drawings, coordination with vendors for specification requirement fulfillment & coordination with project execution for site related issues.
• Establishment of cost optimization processes & standardization.
• Support to tendering team for quantity estimation for various overseas jobs like 220 kV, 132 kV, 66 kV, 33kV AIS, GIS substations.
