Fire and Rescue
Responds to fire alarm and other emergencies and performs control, containment and extinguishment of fires by operating fire apparatus and pumps, spraying water or foam, fire extinguishers, and efficiently using other firefighting equipment, and performs entry, ventilation, salvage and overhaul.
Responds to Hazardous materials incidents and supports Hazmat Teams as directed in the identification, mitigation and containment of spills such as the use of pads, building dikes, and providing spill basins.
Conducts rescue and extrication of people trapped in vehicles, buildings and other dangerous situation using hydraulic cutters, spreaders, rams, rescue tools, powered and non-powered tools.
Operates, inspects, tests and maintain availability of fire equipment and apparatus by washing, cleaning, polishing and performing minor troubleshooting and repair, conducts testing and records and reports discrepancies and damages. Ensures all equipment such as fire hoses, nozzles/branch, rescue tools, etc. are inspected, cleaned, tested and placed back to service every after use and ready for service.
Performs additional duties in Property custodian, Health Safety and Environmental programs, and other department programs as delegated by Supervisor.
Performs general maintenance work in the upkeep of fire station and other facilities; cleans and washes walls and floors, and cares for grounds around station.
Facilitates fire prevention by conducting surveys and inspections for hazards, enforcing codes, maintains availability of hydrants and other firefighting equipment, conduct and assist fire drills and exercises.
Participates in training activities such as live fire exercises, drills and instruction sessions; develop and maintain acquired knowledge and skills by completing Firefighting certification courses and testing.
Performs all work duties and responsibilities in accordance with department protocol. Maintain physical fitness and positive outlook to public.
Emergency Medical Care/First Aid
Assists EMT’s and Paramedic in facilitating and providing emergency medical care by lifting, moving and immobilizing patients, hand over medical equipment and provide other assistance as directed.
Perform CPR and artificial respiration to patients when required and in accordance to protocol.

Participates in emergency rescue operations and supports specialized teams and other government agencies in various types of rescue incidents like floods, high angle, auto extrication, building collapse, and other calamities.
Performs maintenance and upkeep of fire appliance, equipment and fire facilities by cleaning, inspecting, testing and repair.
Assists in conducting pre-fire plans, inspection of hazards, enforce building codes and conducting basic fire inspections and completing reports.
Ensures availability of water at fire scene by testing hydrants; requesting and expediting repairs.
Performs various public information, education task by providing fire drills to various institutions such as schools and universities; government and private offices; industrial and commercial areas and maintain coordination with other agencies and promote positive public outlook.
Maintain and update technical knowledge by completing mandatory education and trainings.
Assists in training and orienting new firefighters and candidates on apparatus, equipment, policies and procedures as directed.
Emergency Medical Services
Performs emergency medical care, including administering first aid, patient transport, and other assistance and coordinating with other during mass casualties, and other calamities.
Providing medical, dental and rehabilitation to other firefighters and public when needed.
Conducts medical and dental outreach programs to areas and other regions as directed.
