Mitigate Reliability Problems of HV Shunt Capacitors Installations
• Assisted engineers in a team and designed electric wiring diagrams for capacitor bank protections at 18 transmission stations
• Designed Breaker Failure and Trip and Close Modules for existing breakers with C60 and SEL451 breaker control relay module
• Replaced existing shunt capacitor breakers with new breakers having a greater basic impulse insulation levels (BIL) for 4 transmission stations
• Added surge capacitor CVT with monitoring facility and connected secondary of CVT to the protection to trace the zero sequence voltage
• Created new protection and monitoring designs for Surge Capacitor CVTs associated with capacitor banks using SEL351A relay module
Nanticoke HV Bus Protection Logic Design and Setting
• Used analytical and problem solving skills to program new relay devices such as GE B30 and SEL487B for 3 buses, using Flexlogic and SELogic Control Equations for GE Enervista and AcSELerator respectively
• Updated logic diagrams based on new settings and protection schemes implemented within the bus protection relays
Bruce Special Protection System Modifications Project
• Designed electrical wiring diagrams for load rejection protection trip circuit so new communication devices such as NSD570 and SEL2506 could be installed for 12 transmission stations
