Designing maintenance strategies, procedures and methods;
Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults;
Diagnosing breakdown problems;
Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly;
Carrying out quality inspections on jobs;
Liaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues;
Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components;
Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment;
Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs;
Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs;
Improving health and safety policies and procedures;
Working with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control
machinery on factory assembly lines;
Writing maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines;
Ensuring there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.
Specific Responsibilities
Coordinate the overall manufacturing process including personnel and equipment.
Manage the flow of production and quality controland develop strategies to improve quality and overall flow of production.
Responsible for the operation of the plant in order to meet key measures in the operating plan.
Responsible for the development and implementation of operational budgets.
Conduct performance assessments and evaluate team members.
Implement company policies and procedures.
Assist in the planning and performance of preventive and corrective maintenance.
Ensure the implementation of and compliance with safety policies, procedures and practices at the plant.
Develop and foster plans for the efficient use of materials, machines and employees.
Achieve key quality, health and safety and customer satisfaction objectives.
Direct development and implementation of key projects at the location including new product and/or equipment implementation.
Direct the training and development of salaried and hourly personnel to enhance plant performance.
Serve as a key member of the operations team.
Maintain good communication and good relationships between company owners and employees.
Ability to function and manage multiple sites.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Design and connect wiring and cabling to CSA/CEC standards; soldering.
Designed of control panel and field termination panels to house industrial components (PLCs, industrial PCs etc.).
Selection and installation of instrument field devices including analog / digital I/O.
Validation of process sensors to ensure suitability-to-task and system interfaces.
Bench calibration and verification of sensors and actuators.
Analysis and specification of electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic actuators.
Successful delivery of Surveillance sub-system engineering artefacts against the agreed Engineering plan, within the agreed budget constraints.
Production and delivery of the Surveillance Systems Engineering deliverables, including the sub-system requirements documents, sub-system design documentation, interface documentation Surveillance supplier Statement of Work, and acceptance documentation.
Working with the Supply Chain management organization to provide technical support for the successful completion of the Surveillance provider's sub-contract obligations.
Leading and/or collaborating on project tasks to develop automated ore mineral sensing and sorting systems.
Building components of the solution, including wiring and environment controls, and ensuring safe electro-mechanical operation.
Responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes.
