Improving QoS for LTE System Using Adaptive MIMO-OFDM Techniques Multi – Input Multi – Output (MIMO) is the key technics of advanced generation of mobile communication systems, and it improves the performance of these systems by reaching to high data rate and high channel capacity, in addition to improving spectral efficiency and increasing the reliability, but achieving these advantages leads to high complexity because of increasing radio frequency chains in MIMO systems. So the researchers try to develop technics allow us to takes the advantages of MIMO and decreasing the complexity, these technics called Antenna Selection which decrease the number of RF chains desired in MIMO system. In this research we will present an overview on the development stages of mobile communication systems and the enabling technics of LTE,in addition we will study the physical layer technics of downlink in LTE, the most important transmission parameters, propagation environments, channel model, link adaptation and radio link quality parameters estimation. Then we will describe the MIMO systems and survey antenna selection technique, antenna selection algorithms, channel estimation using Pilot sub-carrier and how to exploit the CSI at transmitter side. Finally we will propose two algorithms for Transmit Antenna Selection (TAS) in LTE downlink and evaluate the performance of these algorithms compared to the performance of studied algorithms, then complexity analysis will be done in addition to memory and hardware implementation requirements analysis.
