Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Take ownership for IT projects’ aspects starting from project initiation till closure with final acceptance tests and customer handovers.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date complete detailed documentations including: Project Schedule, Project Charter, Project Plan & Project Monitor and Control using PMI & CMMI fundamentals.
• Schedule detailed projects’ activities as well as managing projects’ budgets, costs, resources and timelines using Microsoft Project.
• Provide presentations to customers up to Senior Management and C levels for projects Kick-off meetings, projects scope with detailed activities, and project progress reports.
• Monitor and follow up on IT project related tasks, determine & resolve project issues and mitigate the risks.
• Manage software development based projects (Waterfall and Agile models) for both in premises and on cloud services.
• Ensure that all the project KPIs have been met that lead to a successful project.
• Accountable and responsible for the projects’ preventive and corrective action plans.
• Provide critical communications technical aids and consultancy to clients and contractors in telecommunications related projects.
• Create testing procedures, manage the testing performance processes and acquire the results of the FAT & SAT tests.
• Design layouts of critical and unified communications networks.
• Lead technical and project management meetings and workshops with customers with detailed minutes of meeting creation and submission.
• Plan and schedule project milestones and deliverables in a quality manner.
Projects:
Qatar Amiri Guard (QAG) “Full Integrated Solution of Critical Communication Systems”:
- Responsible for planning, executing, monitoring and controlling the whole project tasks and activities among stakeholder parties (6 large vendors and suppliers) on a large integrated critical communication system.
WOQOD “Vehicle Tracking and Fleet Management Solution”:
- Managing the project activities, timeline, stakeholders, issues and risks starting with the kick-off meeting presentation, scheduling and detailed project planning and ending up to customer delivery and project closure.
Qatar Petroleum (QP) “Provisioning of Satellite Imagery and Marine GIS Data”:
- The focal point of communication (among the customer and partners) who’s responsible for the project deliverables from different aspects (QA/QC docs, Technical deliverables, Project Management docs).
- Manage several vendors whom responsible for supplying the project services in all the project areas.
- Perform project progress and status reports presentations to the customer on a monthly demanded basis.
- Create project achievement certificates according to the work progress and issuing the project invoices as per the due payment dates and subscriptions.
Ministry of Justice (MOJ) “SAP Success factors Learning Management System (LMS) Implementation”:
- Accountable - with respect to the customer - for the project execution phases and its on time delivery by managing SAP and other partners to meet the customer’s business requirements and deadlines.
Acting as a project manager for the mid size projects.
Designing and implementing system infrastructure layouts.
Generating technical proposals and system descriptions for Motorola RF systems.
Leading a team of (3 engineers) responsible for providing Tetra solutions according to customer requirements.
Handling executions of Factory Acceptance Tests at “Motorola-Berlin/Germany” for large DIPS & DIPC systems.
Projects:
SOC (South Oil Company), Basra - Iraq. Finalizing all the customer’s tender required documents (Technical Proposal, System Description, Design and Layout) to get our bid chosen and start the initial project stages.
KUT Province (Iraq): Leading the project from scratch with responsibility of all aspects related to its work breakdown structure starting from the document and paper works like: preparation of technical proposal and finalizing the system description part of our bid to apply for the project tender, passing by providing training with instructions regarding the safety and optimum equipment installations for the implementation phase, to end by the whole project and system operation and delivery.
Exxon Mobil (Basra / Iraq): preparation of system description with designing the system infrastructure layout for the customer, and currently managing the implementation and installation phase of the system infrastructure equipment.
Karbala Province (Iraq): preparation of system description and finalizing the technical part of our bid to apply for a Tetra project tender.
Babel Police Authority (Iraq): preparation of system description and finalizing the technical part of our bid to apply for a Tetra project tender.
ABB (Rumaila / Iraq): preparation of system description with designing the system layout and finalizing the technical part of our bid to apply for a Tetra project tender.
• Experience with TETRA system (An IP network system), duties included:
Setup and installing operating system under Solaris on the system servers.
Backup and restoring the database from the Zone Database Server and Zone Statistical Server.
Adding and removing users and talk groups from the User Configuration Server.
Authentication of users on the Authentication Center through a KVL (Key Variable Loader).
Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco and Motorola system routers (Good experience with Cisco routers but professional with Motorola ones).
Managing the status of all remote sites through the Terminal Server.
Motorola Base stations (EBTS, MTS2 & MTS4) installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
Set up the network between Motorola RF sites together and to the Master zone.
Establish a system upgrade on the zone controllers, the zone servers and system equipment.
Working with the sales team as a pre-sales engineer helping them in selling the tetra products by providing presentations to the customer about the system equipment and features
Performing pre-sales engineering tasks, as covering the sales department engineers with full technical details required by the customer about the Tetra system, and responsible of executing some training workshops for the customers to become fully aware of dealing with the system and its features.
Providing design layouts presented to the customer about the system description and specification.
As a System Engineer, I’m one of three system engineers whom are responsible for the main site (system) servers with all its operations; tasks include servers, routers and switches installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Applying Tetra system training to the new comers engineers as a system instructor.
Tetra Projects:
MOI (Ministry of Interior) Tetra System: Installing a cluster of two master zones connected to each other holding around 180 remote sites.
TRD (Technical Research Department) Tetra system: Installing a master zone and connected CSR (Control Site Room) of the SCA (Suez Canal Authority) to the zone.
OP (Office of President) Tetra system: An individual master zone dedicated to this authority had a problem with the Packet Data subsystem and the KMF (Key Management Facilities) application, and both problems have been solved under my leadership.
• Experience with Motorola wireless broadband products (Canopy), duties included:
Link surveys including setup and configuration of the Canopy antennas.
Determining the points to be linked by taking the coordinates of each point using the GPS (Global Positioning System)
Adjusting the link distance, the angle of each antenna and the LOS (Line of Sight) between the two links using the Tele Mobile and Radio Mobile programs.
Link execution.
• Designing and implementation of a new connection set between the Canopy wireless broadband and the Wi-Fi network.
• Experience with NEC & SAGEM products and equipment of Microwave connections in order to establish the links between Motorola RF sites, duties included:
Installation process of ODU's (Out Door Units) over the towers with its dishes.
Configure and program the IDU's (In Door Units).
Implementation with alignment processes to get the maximum power available and establish a high quality link.
Microwave Projects:
Worked on the MFO (Multination forces and observers) project in Sinai, connecting the soldiers' camps together using NEC Microwave links to exchange the database between their camps.
Worked in the TRD (Technical Research Department) system, as we transmitted the E1 connection between the remote sites using NEC Microwave links.
Worked on the MOI (Ministry Of Interior) project. Connecting their TETRA sites using NES and SAGEM Microwave links.
NEC Sites re-operation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Software duties included installation and troubleshooting of client software, Operating System Issues.
• Perform intermediate Windows 2000 System Administration tasks (setting-up of users, group policies, system back up).
• Performed extensive LAN construction.
• Finished a PRMG (Project Management) diploma at the AUC containing the following tracks, as a preparation for the PMP (Project Management Professional) certificate: - PRMG010(Project Planning and Control Techniques) with a grade of [B+]. - PRMG020(Project Management Resources) with a grade of [B]. - PRMG025 (Project Management International Standards)with a grade of [A]. - PRMG030 (Project Budgeting and Financial Controls) with a grade of [B+]. - PRMG050 (Project Feasibility Studies)with a grade of [A]. - PRMG080 (Project Management Bids and Contracts) with a grade of [B]. Achieving a total accumulative GPA of 3.4 • Continuing to complete the whole Project Management certificate, to become a PMP certified engineer.
• Sessions included complete indoor units, outdoor units and antennas installation, configuration and implementation. • Advanced management system (PNMS, PNMT) for managing multiple sites through a master terminal.
• Chosen from a team of five engineers, as the training was rewarded to the one with the highest score in a series of theoretical and practical tests. • Training included complete site hardware installation and reconstruction. • Higher level of troubleshooting and configuration to base radios and site controllers under Solaris operating system. • Best-practice security processes and procedures, in the communication between several master zones, to minimize any security threats that the system might be exposed to. • Industrial standards in measuring the site return losses, base radio efficiency, input and output power of the MTS.
• Finished and completed the MCP track and MCSA track with a certificate.
A Bachelor degree of five years credit hours program in Computer Engineering.
