• Overall management of the projects in order to achieve the project objectives within the defined time frame, scope and budget.
• Leading the projects from inception to implementation phase with proper capitalization of various projects pertaining to Power Generation & Distribution, Cathodic protection, Gas compression, construction, mechanical design of the gas regulating & measurement system and gas pipelining, Alternate & Renewable Energy sources installation etc.
• Effective supervision of the projects, i.e. planning, scheduling, execution, costing and estimation, monitoring and commissioning of the projects while ensuring utilization of the company resources at an optimum level of productivity
• Supervise, direct and coordinate activities for compression facility optimization, including Electrical installation and commissioning for gas turbines, compressors, heat exchangers etc.
• Engaged in compressor station design, selection of materials, preparation of specifications, project costing and resource planning.
• Leading electrical maintenance department by providing work directions, setting performance expectations, and coaching the electrical maintenance team to deliver the department’s business plan.
• Electrical Maintenance of electrical installations, Power Generation, Distribution system of the compressor stations, repeater stations, Housing colony, Workshop & office buildings.
• To ensure proper and smooth operation of Gas Turbines by keeping the electrical maintenance which includes the E&I maintenance of Gas Turbines, Generator Sets and Discharge Gas Cooling system with all auxiliaries of a gas compressor station.
• Troubleshooting and fault rectification of Generators, Gas Compressors, Transformers, rectifiers, motors, electric distribution network, field instrumentation, PLC and RLC systems
• Provide leadership, management and mentoring to improve the operational team’s efforts to detect and prevent equipment failures through the use of predictive and preventive techniques, maintenance strategies, and design alternatives.
• Preparation of specifications for instrument and control equipment and their spares and performing their technical vetting and technical inspection.
• Planning, Designing, installation, operation and maintenance of Impressed Current Cathodic protection Stations for Compressor stations, Transmission and Distribution Gas Networks
• Installation and data acquisition of Thermo electric Generators and telemetry units at remotely installed CP stations using available GSM networks.
• Installation and maintenance of solar power systems using Mono Crystalline high-performance photovoltaic cells for CP stations and telecom repeater stations.
• Liaison with consultants, contractors and vendors for timely completion of project in-line with execution strategy
• Prepare tender and contract documents and evaluate tenders/bids for construction, maintenance activities, machinery and equipment/tools.
• Prequalification and assessment of contractors, vendors and suppliers.
• Purchasing and indenting of material and equipment as per Government and company’s policies required for various functions and activities.
• Supervise Junior Engineers, Supervisors, technicians and electricians.
• Prepare material cost and estimates, Project Progress reports and Budget proposals, using PMS (project monitoring system) for further verification and processing by Finance and Technical Departments.
• Reviewing project budgets on monthly basis and arranging payments on all project related activities.
• Planning, monitoring, execution, construction and commissioning of Projects pertaining to Power Generation & Distribution, automation and control.
• Installation, testing and commissioning of Generators, soft starters, MV and LV motors, Transformers, MCC, PLC & RLC, control panels, cable laying and routing, Protection relays, switch gears etc with SIEMENS Pakistan and Descon Ltd. during extension phase of Cement Plant.
• To ensure trouble free operation of cement Plant and power Generation plant in collaboration with production deptt, achievement of production targets, planning, scheduling and supervision of maintenance activities.
• Parallel operation of Generators and synchronization with WAPDA.
• Troubleshooting & maintenance of Electrical Equipment, Relay Control Circuits, MCC, AC/DC Drives, Transformers, Generators and Protection and Measuring Devices.
• Responsible for day-to-day jobs relating to plant and personnel, Budgeting, Inventory Control, ISO 9001-2000.
• Troubleshooting & maintenance of Siemens PLC system (S5) Programming & Logic modification as per requirement of production
• Planning, supervising, monitoring and executing routine, breakdown maintenance activities in such a way to reduce downtime of the plant
• Plan and ensure availability of spare parts pertaining to electrical department to ensure up keeping of the plant with minimum available inventory to ensure cost effective and cost efficient operation of the plant.
• Management and operation of 132/6.3 KV Substation and Power control center.
• Installation and commissioning of power factor improvement plants for 6.3 KV and 400 volts.
• Managed the Maintenance/ Fault rectification Procedures and Work Instructions as per ISO-9000 standards.
• Installation, trouble shooting and calibration of Temperature/pressure transmitters, capillary type Temperature/pressure switches and capacitive level switches.
• Managed the proper record of Maintenance, Faults, Major Modifications/new installations as per ISO-9000 requirements.
• Assigning jobs to the junior staff members and supervisors and monitor their performance.
• Managed overall coordination with other departments to ensure smooth and fault free operation of the plant and effective work execution
• Manage and provided a congenial environment to lower staff at plant to attend the faults and maintain the Electrical system as per schedule.
• Supervised the preparation of the Daily, Weekly and monthly reports as per ISO-9000 standards
• Preparation of the Budget Proposals of the electrical department
• To prepare tender documents, BOQs etc. analyze the received bids for the works/supplies forwarded by contractors/suppliers
• Ensured the entire site is operating in line with the QA procedures, statutory health and safety requirements
• Management, Planning and coordination of installation and commissioning work, and scheduling of system integration with both Senior Managers and Plant engineers.
• Attending daily meetings with Senior management to discuss routine issues, faults and other matters which affected the production.
• Planning, Designing and management of Rural Electrification Project in KPK funded by IBRD (World Bank)
• Topographic and load demand survey for the Rural electrification of the villages and left over rural areas.
• Preparation of the engineering plans and drawings as per design for the 11 KV and 400 LV distribution Networks
• Preparation of BOQ, Work orders, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly progress reports and project completion reports.
• Liaison with the other departments, agencies and public representatives and local people with regard to implementation of the project.
