Head Technical Operations Dairy & Foods - Manging Dairy & Food Operations & P&L, Responsible for Manufacturing Operations, QA, NPD, Purchase & Logistics

Direct Reporting to Managing Director

Managing projects worth 35m € covering 3 manufacturing sites, Heading Dairy & Food business and lead the team of 12 managers - 200 plus SKUs

Site 1: Ice Cream, project, UHT Dairy, project
Site 2: UHT Juices
Site 3: Potato & Extruded snacks line (American Extrusion), Chocolate wafer sandwich and enrobed sandwich

Areas of responsibility - Covering every aspect of operations within the business (Except Sales & Marketing) - Managing budgets in and out covering CAPEX & OPEX.

• Project manager for the ice cream, dairy & juice UHT, potato and extruded snack & chocolate plant
• Planned Management of 200 heads across 3 manufacturing sites, on top of a total of 12 management staff. Direct reports are plants manager from each site.
• Working with respective Plant, QAPD & Maintenance team on QMS, HACCP policies and procedures, drafting basic PRP’s for the upcoming operations to get the necessary certification completed by June 2023 for ice cream and dairy plant which are first to go operational followed by juices, chocolate and snacks operation.
• Working with respective team on setting up basic food safety and GMP standards - safe system of work, establish SOPs and developing required skills matrix.
• Conducting NPD trials inhouse and externally for all the products that we planning to go with a target of having quality products for the consumers at affordable price.
• Conducting Product costing & formalizing operational deliverables to have optimum CPU to have healthy gross margin.
• Working on product & process workflow designing in coordination with respective plants team using lean as the basis of operational planning to operate at least wastage form day 1 of the operation.
• Drafted Engineering process for spare part management and PM planning requirements based on the details shared by OEM suppliers, worked with maintenance manager and respective plant managers on PM & Shutdown planning.
• Working closely with R & D and QA team on NEW products, primary packaging secondary packaging artwork development
• Stocks inventory management planning with group inbound team - warehousing / ERP
• Working on Vendor and supplier development for raw materials, packaging materials, and other consumables.
• Managing resource hiring process and working with Group HR on drafting right JD & basic training planning for the upcoming team
• Working with HR team on staff accommodation, insurance, food supplies and transportation facilities.

Monitoring daily operation schedules for all departments for accuracy and ensuring daily operational goals are realized
•Ensure maintenance PM schedule meets equipment guidelines and coincides with operations schedules
•Track key performance indicators of operations including quality, service, safety and cost. Share operation’s goals and guidelines for achieving the goals with facility leadership
•Lead operations and maintenance managers to develop a culture of continuous improvement
•Perform a daily walk through all areas of the operations facility, while having visibility on all shifts
•Provide strategic guidance to the organization through participation in meetings
•Ensure the operations management team communicates with associates with a focus on providing personal development and work-related performance feedback
•Partner with plant management and human resources team to ensure a culture of employee engagement
•Partner with the plant HR manager to ensure staffing requirements are met
•Partner with plant safety manager to ensure safety requirements are met
•Partner with plant quality manager to ensure quality requirements are met
•Participate in new product development and planning by researching the cost and ability to produce the product
•Communicate new product production plans to managers and participate in implementation of the new product’s implementation
•Support GM Operations and VP Operations to develop operations annual budget by analyzing spending and allocation of resources
•Adhere to the approved operations annual budget and provide budget updates and adjustments as requested by the VP & GM Operations
•Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives
•To effectively manage all Quality functions within the organization and support others within group where applicable.
•Co-ordinate QA/QC functions to ensure all incoming materials and all finished goods comply with legal, group and customer requirements and standards.
•Develop, implement and maintain a preventive FSMS which identifies all Business risks and ensure adequate measures are in place to firstly eliminate the risks or reduce them to an acceptable level whereby they cause no harm to our consumers.
•Apply and verify compliance to all legal/statuatory/regulatory requirements for both Qatar and the Gulf.
•Investigate, in conjunction with all stakeholders, the reason for any food safety issues, breakdown in quality, hygiene or other business practice.
•CAPEX sign off’s to ensure Quality is built into new buildings, processes, machinery and new products.
•A representative spokes person for the company as and when required in the event of Consumer complaints, legal municipality issues, Food control aurthority issues.
•Brief Divsional Executive team on a monthly basis regarding the status of Buisness and Quality objectives and or earlier in the event of a serious issue.
•Manage the budgeted overheads to achieve targeted CPU or better.
•Partner with plant management and human resources team to ensure a culture of employee engagement develops.

•Conceptualized & developed formal plan for localization, achievement of national numbers and individual development for all employees after contract conformation at 3 months
