As safety professional involved directly in Process Safety and work place Safety Mgt activity. Some of the major activities are listed below,
• Any changes in present process system are implemented through MOCT. Being a part of HAZOP team for such implementation.
• HAZOP for ethane project is carried out and implemented the changes as per report.
• Active part in Plant start-up safety review (PSSR).
• Member of subcommittee for Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Highly toxic Material (HTM), Incident investigation team and Audit subcommittee.
• Demonstrated competency in carrying out various Fire and safety activities in the plant.
• Competent trainer for HSE policy and standard for contract and company employees.
• Pre commissioning and commissioning activities of Petrochemical plant.

A. Process Engineer - (Jan-1993 to Sep-2004)

Detailed responsibilities contour
Performed daily shift activity in plant as a role in Process Eng. Handling various emergency in plant. I successfully handled four long terms and three short terms shut down without any Lost Work Case (LWC). As a part of field operation I have knowledge and hands on experience in following section in gas cracker plant.

Furnace section: I handled furnace (ultra selective cracking furnaces) operation such as furnace start up (which includes burner operation), hot steam standby of furnace, cracking of furnace, steam only decoking of furnace, steam air decoking of furnace, shut down of furnace, feed change over (Swapping) of furnace, waste heat recovery boiler (which generates very high pressure steam of 105 Kg/cm2). High-pressure multi stage boiler feed water pump (which generates pressure up to 160 Kg/cm2) and steam turbine.

Quench Water section: This unit is mainly designed for generation of dilution steam, treatment of condensate and steam let down station as well as quenching of furnace effluent and quench water circulation for heat recovery. This unit is also consists of chemicals dosing as like dimethyl disulphide, Hydrazine, morpholene, trisodium phosphate, ammonia. This unit is also consists of condensate polishing unit where we are giving treatment to condensate returned from heat exchangers and surface condenser.

Acetylene Recovery Unit: This unit is mainly used for removing Acetylene from C2 stream. In this unit I have handled absorbing column, Stripping column, single stage as well as multi stage centrifugal pumps of cold and hot service, sun dyne compressor, nearly all types of heat exchangers.

Distillation section: In Distillation section Propylene, C4 mix, gasoline and fuel oil are separated as final products. I have handled distillation columns, motor driven single stage centrifugal pumps of hot service, nearly all types of heat exchanger including Plate and fin type heat exchanger, Reactors, Reciprocating pumps, and Sun dyne Pump.

Cracked gas compressor : This unit is mainly used for compressing the cracked by steam turbine gas up to 27 Kg/cm2 and removing the acidic gases, sulphar, co, co2, as well as removing the moisture from the cracked gas. In this unit I have handled four stage centrifugal compressor, extraction type turbine, caustic tower, dehydrators, regeneration of dehydrator, seal oil system, buffer gas system, lube oil system, local panel operation, turbine driven as well as motor driven gear pumps, turbine driven as well as motor driven centrifugal pumps, and sun dyne pumps.

HOT SECTION: Gas coming from distillation tower after removing ethylene. Methane & hydrogen is treated in this section. The main function of this section is converting the Methyl Acetylene propadine to Ethylene & removing COS (CO2, CO & Sulpher) which is poisonous to further reaction.Sulper is remove by reaction in packed tower & caustic tower.
