School and Kindergartens Fire Life Safety Project
(Phase 2) Contract Client - Public Works Authority (PWA)
To upgrade the existing buildings to comply with Qatar Civil Defense Fire Life Safety
Standard (QCD FSS) which is underpinned by National Fire Protection Association
(NFPA) suite of codes.
• Works and confers with Senior QS and Head- Electrical Engineer in relation to
the scope of work requirements.
• Coordinates with suppliers and subcontractors for supporting documents to avoid
delays of payment.
• Prepare detailed material take off and detailed measurement sheet for the
variation claim.
• Prepare supporting documents for the variation claim.
• Prepare the monthly progress report in order to prepare the monthly invoice to
the Client.
Responsible for preparing realistic, adaptable and accurate cost estimates based
on detailed plans and specifications.
• Conduct quantity take-off and estimate on the various stages of the project.
• Preparation of tender queries.
• Preparing the Bill of Quantities for Electrical.
• Prepares cost studies and cost analysis for the electrical and auxiliary works.
• Assists in preparing electrical and auxiliary reports submitted to clients, including
but not limited to project initial design and cost budget, bid recommendation
report and variation order evaluation.
• Preparing progress reports & feasibility reports.
• Coordinate with the Senior QS and Estimators - all disciplines - in relation to the
scope of work requirements.
• Inquiring prices from suppliers, negotiating better terms & conditions and
finalizing price comparison.
• Dealing with Contractor valuations and reconciliation with the quantities and cost.
• Assists in the preparation of electrical and auxiliary bid packages and other bid
documents needed in the bidding process.
Evaluate various San Miguel Corporation projects local and international
involving electrical works, electrical equipment and machineries.
• Conduct plant visits and site inspections to various SMC plants.
• Attend coordination meetings, presentations, seminars and pre-bidding to
discuss project related concerns.
• Coordinate with the
Quantity take-off of electrical materials from tender drawing to shop drawing.
• Attend technical meetings with Architects, Engineers and Designers.
• Conduct site inspection.
• Preparation of shop drawings and submittals needed for the project.
• Revision and editing of shop drawings.
Operate & Perform machining of CNC machines (Wire cut & Die sinking EDM)
• Draw and Program Press & Injection die spare parts.
• Redesigning of drawings using AutoCAD.
• Fabricate jigs and other machine parts.
• Troubleshoot, maintain & inspect CNC machines.
• Measure Die parts using 2-dimensional measuring tools.
