I was a critical care registered nurse assigned to the coronary care unit / cardiac surgery unit.
I used to take care of cardiac, open-heart, critically ill & intubated patients.
I was responsible for:
- developing nursing care plans for patients
- providing holistic care and education
- performing head-to-toe and focused relevant assessments
- clinical skills
- coordinating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team
I was a Nursing Intern, rotating on all floors including medical surgical, maternity, pediatric and psychiatry. I focused my internship on critical care, especially cardiology.
During my internship, I was responsible for:
- developing nursing care plans for patients
- providing holistic care in coordination with the multidisciplinary healthcare team
- performing head-to-toe and focused relevant assessments
- clinical skills
- educating patients and their families
I graduated with distinction, ranking second on my class. I received the Ann Smith Award - Women's Auxiliary Award for academic achievement, professional integrity and contribution to professional & university life.
