Leading the Engineering department of a beach resort with 2 golf courses. The resort has 203 keys, a 3000 sq.m. SPA, 2 infinity pools, 2 kids pools, 6 private pools, 4 thalassotherapy pools; 4 restaurants, 5 bars, a gym, a private beach, a kids club; a ball room, 7 meeting rooms, an amphitheater; 5 shops and a beauty salon. Engineering team is 14 people. Initiated and launched successfully new CMMS application for the resort to organize maintenance processes. Performed energy audit to implement energy savings initiatives, targeting mostly electricity and water.
Lead the Engineering department to a smooth and compliant hotel opening. Selected Leader of the quarter in Q2 for the successful effort to open the hotel with less than 3 months of pre-opening. Passed the 3rd party Quality Audit for 2018 and 2019 with score “excellent” (100% and 95.5%) in Condition. Achieved savings of 644.000AED in the utilities cost compared to budget in 2018 (-12%) and 747.000AED in 2019 (-11%). Reduced carbon footprint by 20% in 2019. Achieved 94% in the Employees Engagement survey in May 2019.
Holiday Inn is a 4* hotel, with 510 rooms, 22 floors, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 1 cafe’, 3 meeting rooms, one ballroom, a laundry, 2 pools and a gym. Engineering team counts 20 people.

participate in the annual strategic planning and budget setting exercise for the completion
of the construction, as well as ensuring the effective running of the property. Lead the
development of short, medium and long term construction and operational plans and
performance objectives, to achieve business goals. Develop and document all relevant
policies, procedures, standards and codes relevant to the effective operation of the
department. Plan department learning and development. Deliver orientation, train and
coach team in job knowledge, service standards and the proper execution of their role.
Involved in preparing the hotel for a successful opening. Create the Engineering
Departmental Operations Manual and establish the policies and procedures within the
scope. Inspect and review the construction project to monitor compliance with building and
safety codes, and other regulations. Review drawings and plans to ensure compliance to
Company design and standards. Meet regularly with contractors and Project Managers to
update on the status of the project. Periodically inspect and “snag” the hotel buildings to
search for defects and communicate with the owner to rectify them. Plan with other
departments the pre-opening phases and operations. Collect all the manuals and
equipment data to build the Engineering archive. Prepare operating procedures, staffing
requirements and budget for the department.
