product Consultant/trainer at 8over8
  • United Kingdom
  • October 2005 to July 2012

I am was employed by 8over8 as a product/implementation consultant for their tendering and contract management solution titled ProCon.

My role requires I travel extensively and interact directly with the customer to study their current tendering and contract procedures and then map these requirements into a functional specification for agreement by all parties and then configure our system ( ProCon) to ensure that correct policy and procedures are followed and that buyers and users can continue to perform their day to day tasks.

Once the processes are mapped in our Functional specification and workbook configuration documentation and the system is configured I will create a customised set of UAT cases along with a test execution plan. I will then meet on-site with the customers end users and train them in usage of the product and testing methodologies and will then co-ordinate the UA Testing, ensuring complete coverage, answer any and all questions, ensuring all issues are captured, logged and resolved by me if configuration issues or passed to 2nd line support for dev fix, I ensure that all Config changes are first agreed by customer focal points and are reflected in the functional specification Once we have achieved UAT sign off I will stay on site to provide full training and on-site support / handholding

I also interact to capture business requirements for new functionality within our product and also for integration with other existing systems e.g. Maximo, EDMS (open text) and SAP.

In addition my role involves an element of Customer Support:
Provide support to Middle East based customers to resolve queries and manage the customer change request pipeline. Work with the UK-based Customer Support Team to resolve customer queries requiring 2nd Line Support (Development).
