Iceni was formed by the team that built M-Pesa mobile money for Vodafone. Their objective was to build the next generation of mobile money systems. I was responsible for the ongoing development and the localization for each installation. Liaising with in country managers to ensure the system met commercial and regulatory requirements. A member of the senior management team deciding company strategy and policy.

Following the takeover of Lloyds TSB ME by HSBC ME, I was retained to define and create the processes required to move all debit and credit card data from Lloyds TSB SQL Server system to HSBC India AS400 and mainframe. Convinced stakeholders that debit card transactions could be posted directly to the core banking system without the need to post them via the card administration system. This required less people, saved a day in processing and made the reconciliation much more straight forward. It also led to a considerable reduction in rejected transactions.

Analysed delivery of debit and credit card processes. Successfully presented analysis concluding that a re-write of the system was required to eliminate duplication, automate processes and improve accuracy and data quality.
Project managed, designed, developed and implemented the replacement system (Ikuchi) to automatically interface between the card administration provider (Network International) and Lloyd’s core banking system (FlexCube). The resulting system saved three headcount, was more robust, easier to use and limited the data to only that required for the system to efficiently operate.
Gathered requirements from both business and IT to sanitize customer data held in the core banking system. Data was extracted, cleaned, verified and returned to the system with a minimum of user input and no system down time.
with Vodafone and Safaricom to define control configuration of M-Pesa mobile money system in Kenya. Controls included identity, transfer limits and menu rollout to Agents and end user customers. System needed to be easy to use and understand, robust and auditable.
Following the takeover of the project by IBM, I was appointed Development Lead in the ongoing development of the system and the move from Sagentia to an IBM platform.
Reviewed production line processes with an objective to improve the 74% out of box quality. Invented and built a system to present order requirements from the MRP system to shop floor operators using bar code and LCD indicators. Following implementation of the new system, out of box quality increased to 97%.
