Operator, Onshore Gas Operations
• Engage in the safe start-up and shutdown of Wellhead Treatment Plants, Injection Station, Gas Turbine compressors.
• Field and DCS operation and monitoring of various units.
• Authorised Gas Tester responsible for gas testing prior to any maintenance work.
• Attend to process upsets and emergencies safely.
• Part of the system of achieving production target.
• Collaborate and assist other operators on regular basis.
• Supervises the field operations of the FCC Gas Concentration, LPG, Gasoline, ATU, SWTU and Utilities.
• Reactor - Regenerator field operator in charge of MAB, DFAH, torch oil servicing, and catalyst loading and unloading.
• Safe start and shutdown of WGC and Gas Concentration Unit, pumps, compressors and nitrogen PSA.
• Operation of the Gascon Debutanizer and Strippers, Utilities and SWTU.
• Commissioning of surface condensers and other heat exchangers.
• Gasification of LPG
• Data monitoring, logging and optimization of process parameters.
• Inspect unit equipment functioning/performance.
• Prepare unit equipment (pumps, compressors, deaerator, turbines, PSA unit, heat exchangers columns and vessels) for maintenance and issue work permits accordingly.
• Practice good housekeeping, report near-misses and act as first line fire fighter to minimize safety hazards.
• Attend to process upsets and emergencies safely.
• Preparation and dosing of process chemicals for BFW, steam generators, SWTU, LPG and Gasoline units.
• Takes samples and perform quality tests where applicable.
• Train and supervises new recruits and internship personnel.
• Review of training manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Check integrity of pipelines, vessels, columns and tanks using ultrasonic non-destructive testing (NDT).
• Carry out hydro tests on heat exchangers, air coolers and steam generators.
• Operated the Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant through panel and DCS operations.
• Performed analysis on turbine and transformer oil including particle rank, water content, gas chromatograph, flash point, auto-ignition, pour point, viscosity, etc.
• Prepared chemical solutions for the boiler water treatment and analysis.
• Assisted the operations manager.
• Updated internal operation procedures document as needed.
• Maintained log sheets for all office activities.
• Designed and organised tutorial sessions.
• Prepared chemical solutions for laboratory work.
• Operated distillation unit, extractor, CSTR and heat exchangers
• Supervised students during laboratory sessions.
• Performed quality analysis on the treated water.
• Flocculated turbid water and dosed other chemicals for water treatment.
Graduated with First Class and was ranked second out of 50. Majored in Petroleum Refining Technology and passed with distinction.
