Designated as Project Architect for Qatar Foundation’s
Education City Projects (Mega Projects). Duties and responsibilities includes but not limited to the following:
- Review the contractor’s progress. Monitor the work
performed, the material incorporated in the work, the
materials stored at the site and the contractors
manpower and equipment.
- Attend weekly, monthly and other progress meetings
held at the site.
- Identify constraints and recommend corrective
measures.
- Review and approve Contractor’s Shop Drawing
and Material transmittal.
- Review of pre-qualification documents submitted by
main Contractor for the sub-contract work activities.
1.Provides technical direction and assisted field/site engineers in interpreting the design drawings.
2.Promotes EHS policies together with URS - Third party safety specialist.
3.Assisted the Resident Engineer in administering the construction works as per contract and according to required milestones.
4.Supervise /review and decide approvals for main contractor’s submittals (Material Transmittals, Shop Drawings, Method Statements, Pre-Qualification)
5.Recommend or approve proposed design solutions for construction discrepancies faced on site.
6.Provide responses to contractor’s query raised thru RFI’s. Decides if RFI need to be sent to Design Architects. Recording & tracking all changes to IFC drawings.
7.Manage contractors on construction and project schedule related issues.
8.Participates in bi-weekly progress & construction meetings. Organize & coordinate the weekly architectural meeting and prepare minutes of meeting.
9.Monitor QA/QC and ensure that construction works are as per good standards.
10.Assisted the Resident Engineer on evaluation of variations and claims.
11.Coordinate with client and Design Architects on design discrepancy and change issues.
12.Encourage and promote zero punch list programs.
Assigned as a senior staff member of the project management and construction administration team. Among duties and responsibilities tasked with are the following :
-Review, evaluate, and recommend decisions or
approvals for contractors material and shop
drawings submittal.
-Monitor construction implementation and ensure
that works are proceeding according to the
drawings and specifications and approved
construction schedule.
-Participates on weekly coordination meetings
with contractor and owner to discuss vital
construction issues.
-Reviews and approves monthly progress billing
-Approves or Disapproves construction mock-up
-Interfaced with door hardware consultant on review
& modification of all door hardware requirements
for all door openings (482 units)
-Performed interior design works.Prepared
sketches and schedules.
-Review and modified all laboratory layouts as
per equipment and utility requirements
Primarily involved in the review and evaluation of project requirements prior to design conceptualization and design developments.
Principally involved in the detailed design of Sabic Technology Centre Project, the Yanbu Airport Upgrade project, AGOC - Al Khafji Complex and Community master planning project, 32 storey Al-Akariyah Glass Tower, and the 26-storey Jeddah Waves Tower.
Performed the project specifications writing for the Bisha Airport Project and SADAF Beach Camp and Recreation Complex Project.
Responsible for all projects implementation in central Philippine region and directly reports to the vice president (owner) of the firm. Maintained orderly project tracking systems for all projects and ensure that financial budget stays within limits. Review contracts, specifications, and general conditions vital to projects execution.
Handled major Architectural subjects such as Design, Theory of Designs 1&2, Building Utilities, and Construction Methods. Authored several syllabus and learning package handouts to aid students learning process of the subject course.
Honored to be invited as Moderator during the fifth Architects National Conference in one of its technical session proceedings dealing with Architectural Education.
