Mohale’s Hoek Town Centre
Client: Ministry of Local Government and Chieftainship Affairs

Main Project Features: Mohale’s Hoek also developed over the years from a simple colonial camp into a sizable and important district town. Its poorly planned and unengineered road infrastructure called for an intervention. The GOL then decided to carry out the following upgrading works:
The road upgrading works were designed to be of gravel layers sealed with a bitumen cover and improved road drainage works. The Contract called for setting up of the camp for both the Contractor and the supervising Engineer, setting up of the road line and profile, earthworks, weaning and borrowing construction material, layer-works construction and compaction, crushing of stone for selected layer-works and chipping aggregates and surface sealing with bitumen concrete.

Thaba Tseka Town Centre
Client: Ministry of Local Government and Chieftainship Affairs
Main Project Features: Thaba Tseka Town is an important link between Maseru the capital of Lesotho in the lowlands of the country and all the centrally located areas around the district of Mokhotlong and its surrounds. However, as with many other urban sprawlings in the third world, the road infrastructure was poorly planned and needed upgrading. THE GOL then decided to upgrade the road networks as follows:

& Chieftainship Affairs
Main Project Features: The TY urban area is sprawling district headquarters on top of hilly terrain. The town started off from humble beginnings as a district administrative camp during the colonial days. With time it grew into a bigger setting requiring proper and planned road infrastructure. Maintenance effort for the gravel road network within the town centre became prohibitive for the District Council of TY under the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftainship Affairs. The GOL then decided to upgrade to bitumen standard some strategic routes within the town centre.
