Job Profile: Under the general direction of the Chief Technology Officer, this role is responsible for the
technical operations, Start-up Projects, IT Infrastructure & Communications function for 10 ETV & 3 News18 News channels PAN India. This includes data center infrastructure (servers, storage, broadcast facilities, networking & appliances), Data Archival systems, data center applications (SAP, ERP, Citrix, VPN and other messaging services), Live video streaming, Video transcoding, UDP file transfer, network QoS & security administration, network engineering, client environment engineering, vendor and service management.
Job Profile: Managing IT Infrastructure and projects for a huge content delivery network consisting of 2000 end users spread all over India with an average data transaction of 2+ TB per day with a team of 60 System/Network/Database Administrators & Software Developers. Providing strategic planning and operational guidance to the IT team and serves as a member of the organization's policymaking team. I do manage IT budget, complete lifecycle of multiple projects, Server & storage refresh. I am responsible for conducting orientation workshops and crash courses for all staff in order to implement new technologies & to enhance productivity. Consulting for IT infrastructure, cloud and outsourcing requirements & troubleshooting of 35 group companies. Implemented CDN & Hot DR sites for data center.
Achievements: As a founder member of the ETV IT automation team, successfully completed many IT infrastructure projects to support smooth operation of huge & complex ETV Network, planning and executing its further expansion requirements from time to time. Complete Automation of News Gathering; Newsroom, Production and Broadcasting setup is integrated in an IT based multi-tier system. RKC E-Media functions as a huge visual archive with web based retrieval interface consisting of 200 TB of storage. Content gathered from all over India is made available to 400+ NLE systems for production and supporting services for monitoring and automated billing. Given operational training to 3000+ staff from all levels. Created complete technical documentation for ETV Network.
