Responsibilities:

1) Leading and managing a team of 12 people for day-to-day logistical operations of import clearance, storage and transport of liquid bulk chemicals cargo with the annual turnover of approximately 1.8 to 2.0 MN Metric tons.

2) Devising effective strategies for scheduled dispatch of materials and responsible for monitoring and controlling both export and import team, ensuring increase in efficiency and productivity.

3) Developing long-term partnerships with suppliers; negotiating rate contracts, filing tender and managing day-to-day supplier performance to ensure meeting of service, cost, delivery and quality norms.

4) Devising strategies & negotiating with clients to provide competitive pricing and timely supply of materials through efficient service.

5) Liaising with clients (importers/exporters)for collation of documents, including:
Invoice, Tanker Bill of Landing, Certificate of Analysis, Packing List, Certificate of Quantity, Marine Insurance Policy, Certificate of Origin, Freight Certificate, etc. for clearance of the cargo at Indian Customs and Port.

6) Responsible for coordinating with shipping companies for collection of Delivery Order for release of cargo.

7) Liaising with tank farm owners and importers across India for leasing of tanks for storage of various industrial bulk chemicals.

8) Negotiating prices and finalising contracts with the concerned authorities of the tank owners for tank leasing.

9) Planning, scheduling & controlling all phases of inventory management including cost-benefit analysis and reviewing the operational practices, identifying the areas of quality failures and processing changes for qualitative improvement.

10) Conducting training and mentoring sessions to the staff members and the workmen to educate them about the process and process improvisations through case studies and examples.

11) Accountable for establishing and monitoring both individual and organisation targets to increase operational efficiency for better monetary gains.

Key achievements:

1) 99% achievement of on time delivery and service operations commitment with focus on optimal cost savings in each consignment.

2) Significantly contributed in increasing the business by 500, 000 Metric tons by adding 8 new clients to the organisation, in turn increasing revenue.

3) Instrumental in significantly improving the operational efficiency of the organisation through facilitation and provision of training to the staff on operational efficiency and effective customer relations.

Responsibilities:

1) Significantly identified and sourced various industrial chemicals for trading in India and other countries, including China, Korea, Ukraine, Italy, United Kingdom and Unites States.

2) Involved in liaising with various agencies extending logistical support such as Custom House Agents, Transporters & Warehouse managers for storage, supply and efficient delivery of materials.

3) Instrumentally negotiated with the suppliers across the world for price, payment & delivery terms for effective and efficient procurement of materials.

4) Effectively liaised with the banks and other financial institutions to orchestrate Letter of Credit facility for smooth and efficient monetary transactions for sourcing of materials.

5) Arranged and managed forward cover of foreign currency as well as buyer’s credit in accordance with LIBOR (London Interbank Offered Rate) for timely payments to aid profit maximisation.

6) Ensured adherence to standard quality compliances practice in order to maintain and supply superior quality of materials.

Responsibilities:

1) Hold credentials in managing and analysing finances for three Turning Point projects and two offices in West Midlands region in the United Kingdom.

2) Successfully analysed and an annual budget of over £3.0 MN and utilised DecisionWare (Budgeting software) to forecast incomes and expenditures along with SUN Accounts (Accounting Software) to maintain & update financial accounts on a regular basis.

3) Utilised use NCP (Online Purchase Ledger Portal) to raise purchase invoices and release orders for payment to vendors.

4) Involved in raising invoices with the appropriate funding organisation in order to claim returns.

5) Efficiently completed monthly and yearly bank reconciliation process and as well allocated and disbursed petty cash funds.

1) Achieved cost reduction of 11% of the £3.0 MN annual budget in FY 2009-10 through correct and effective allocation of funds as well as cost reduction.
