My HSE Responsibilities Included;
Internal audits to identify risk based areas related to Healthy, Safety & Environment (HSE) of the Company’s working environment
Organise periodical Management Review Meeting (MRM) & give status to Senior Management
Coordinate with external certification/auditing bodies for 3rd party audits. Coordinate inhouse assessments of Safety Management System
Develop and deliver in-house training programmes for employees
Formulate working procedures for various departments on their Operational Processes
Facilitate the investigation process from reporting to closure for any near miss incidents or accidents. Use the ‘root cause’ analysis and prepare remedial work plan to correct system non conformance inorder to avoid reoccurrence
Organise Hazard Hunt programs and Calendar Inspections to encourage employees participation in Observation/Intervention programs
Host and lead HSE Committee meetings and suggest recommendations
Conduct Supplier Evaluation related to their Safety performance
Attend and participate in Clients HSE meetings
Organize HSE Campaigns within the Company to spread awareness among staff and their families
Facilitate all HSE meetings (toolbox, weekly workshop meetings and monthly Facility meeting)
Responding to tenders requiring HSE statistic and documentation requirements
Implementing Vehicle Management programmes (driver performance, IVMS administrator)
Implement programmes related to risk assessment, stop work etc. and encourage HSE reporting
Point of contact for any HSE related to third party regulatory bodies (Ministry of Environment, Ministry Of Municipal Affairs ect)
Set KPO’s and monitor KPI’s to key individuals within the company responsible to drive/lead the Safety Culture
Being part of this Company was assigned as HSE Lead to their Business Expansion Plans. This involved construction of a New Blend Plant at Ras Laffan & Main Operational Facility at Mesaieed.
Duties Included;
To ensure all contractors work safely in accordance with the Site HSE Plan
To ensure that contractors supply information on health and safety on the construction site
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of Loss Prevention Program including Safe Work Practices/Safe Job Procedures and the Site Emergency Response Plan
Carry out inspection and audits on site operations to monitor compliance with all statutory regulations
Conduct Site orientations for newcomers and visitors
Provide initial safety induction training for contractors working on site. Upkeep of employee’s safety training programme
Carry out day to day surveillance to ensure site workers are complying to the safety standards of the workplace
Develop and update the HSE Plans & procedures.
Facilitate toolbox meeting, site HSE meetings
Oversee Inspection, Calibration and certification of construction equipment
Develop or contribute to HSE Management system, HSE Risk register
Focal point to authorities (Ministry Of Environment, Ras Laffan HSE, Ministry Of Municipality)

Organise and conduct site ‘Hazard Hunt’
Centralise document control and Safety records custodian
Assist to obtain and maintain all legal permits, approvals and other documentation associated with construction phase.
Promote positive HSE culture amongst project employees through encouragement ad ‘reward recognitions’ programmes
Ensure safety reports and data are collected and submitted
Conducting Management review meeting with senior management
Develop and communicate site plans (Fire prevention, waste management Injury prevention etc.)
‘EIA’ coordinator between consultant and 3rd parties involved
