1. Attend brainstorming sessions with Creative Manager and the production team to come up with different solutions and ideas to meet the client’s needs.
2. Identify the suitability of materials and processes needed to produce a prototype.
3. Break the design into detailed components using appropriate computer software and then after, create a complete DCF to be passed to the procurement department for costing.
4. Promptly advise the procurement department of any requirements from international suppliers for components and/or raw materials.
5. Ensure that the prototype produced completely represents the final product and that the Detail Component File is complete across all elements and 100% accurate.
6. Validate material properties and test new materials handed to you by the sourcing team and approve its use. Search for new materials by attending exhibitions (when requested) and conducting market visits to assess competitor knowledge.
7. Provide a deadline for delivering proof/prototype for each job.
8. Transform the components into 2D drawings and 3D constructions with Troubleshooting.
9. Closely supervise the production of the prototype whether executed by Mind Works or any other supplier.
10. Coordinate with the Graphic Designer to finalize artwork.
11. Test and apply any troubleshooting procedure, by hand if necessary, to finalize the prototype before sending it to production.
12. Resolve problems and find adequate solutions to sometimes complex issues whether electro-mechanical, structural, and others.
13. Oversee the completion of the prototype and ensure that it fits quality standard set by the agency.
14. Display a wide scope of understanding of the technology, production methods and materials needed for the production of the design.
15. Produce an accurate (BOQ) for every prototype to aid the procurement department in deriving the Cost Budget for every project.
