•Supervise and lead Chemicals Section that comprise of Port Facilities, Propylene Oxide and Ethylene Oxide Derivatives.
•Lead team of qualified, experienced engineers and deliver the highest level of process engineering support to troubleshoot and improve operability, reliability and safety of the process units.
•Identify and implement projects for cost savings and long-term resolution of operational problems.
Conduct and supervise economic and technical feasibility studies for all plant modifications.
•Develop the technical requirements and a design basis for various equipment and utility systems.
•Review vendor provided documents including equipment drawings, datasheets and calculations for compliance with project requirements.
•Evaluate and optimize processes and equipment to generate cost savings, and improve quality, efficiency and productivity.
•Participate in management of change (MOC), risk assessments, HAZOPS and process hazard assessments for all plant modifications
•Worked with the Operations Manager to establish annual departmental goals and objectives for the site’s continuous production areas.
•Review daily operation of the production areas and perform process troubleshooting to maintain capacity operation as required.
•Utilize statistical methods for process optimization to maintain and improve quality, yields, and to detect problems that may result in reduced rates and product quality non-compliance.
•Perform day-to-day yield improvement and process performance monitoring to assure maximum production output.
•Lead root cause analysis investigations for process specific incidents.
•Lead operational analysis, identification of bottlenecks, troubleshooting and guarantee test runs.
•Oversee construction, modification and operation of process units and reporting to Operation manager for deviations.
•Coordinate with third party engineering firms for execution of capital projects.
•Formulated capital budget for Acetic Acid unit, Vinyl Acetic Monomer unit and Utilities and report cost variance to the management for further corrective measures.
Develop & Review Process Flow Diagram, Piping & Instrumentation Diagram
•Provided training for junior Engineers on Aspen plus and HTRI
•Provided Line & Pump Hydraulics for the projects
•Review and approve static & rotary equipment vendor data sheets.
•Prepared simulation models for heat and mass balance using Aspen Plus
•Design & rate heat transfer equipment’s using HTRI
•Prepare datasheets for Relief valves for Projects
•Provide Engineering support and troubleshoot process problems for Dow plants for Asia- pacific region
•Supported and troubleshoot product, process, or equipment problems.
•Performed Line Sizing & Pressure drop calculations for the pipe lines for any process modifications.
•Performed Pump Hydraulics, Sizing calculations and NPSH calculations for any process modifications.
•Prepared Line List & Equipment List for projects.
•Reviewed PFD, P&ID’s, cause and effect diagram & vendor operating manuals.
•Involved in loop checking of all piping, rotary and static equipment’s.
•Performed planning, preparation and implementation of commissioning and startup activities of NHT/CCR
