• Drove the turnaround of International Machinery (IML), moving a €1m loss on to a multimillion back into the black P&L in just 12 months. Increased the size and improved the performance of the team and secured and directed major projects with clients such as Medserv, Malta Public Transport Fleet and Malta Freeport.
Prior to leaving was involved in the setting up of a production plant for the packaging of Lubricating Oil.

Responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of the business; building an organisation from initial start-up into a significant group with a diversified offer including freight forwarding, ship agency, chartering and brokerage, marine maintenance and repairs (onshore/offshore), oil & gas logistics. Also responsible for securing agency deals with major shipping giants including COSCON, Medcross Lines, Sevenstar Yacht Transport, Dockwise, and other maritime services to organisations such GAC UAE and other ship owners.

An Anglo-Dutch worldwide ocean-going container shipping line formed by the merger of the container-shipping interests of Dutch transportation company Royal Nedlloyd (Nedlloyd Line) and the British maritime shipping giant P&O Group (P&O Containers); the business was acquired by the Danish A.P. Moller-Maersk Group (Maersk) in 2005.
• Responsible for directing all aspects of the Maltese and Libyan operation with full P&L accountability. This included the creation and implementation of annual budgets, recruitment and leadership of the respective teams and presentation of monthly performance reports to the European Executive board whilst offering recommendations to better the cost centres efficacy and operating costs. Managed a combined team of 58 people across both locations which took care of the general operations of the hub office including stowage plans, monitoring of terminal performance, haz cargo and oversized cargo management and acceptance, operational costs whilst contributing to strategic decisions towards the optimisation of schedules for vessels calling the Malta hub.
• Responsibility was extended but not limited to the management and monitoring of port operations, relationship with Terminals (Malta and eventually Khoms/Misurata), co-ordination with conference alliance partners, discharge/load lists, management of stowage plans, nomination and negotiations of third party feeders.
• Received the ‘Manager of the Year Award for Europe’ on two occasions, and ‘Agency of the Year Award for Europe.’
