Installation and configuration of Linux servers
• Being part of the 24x7 Backup and support Team we are responsible for the following Tasks:
Expertise in Sun Solaris and Linux system installation, configuration, administration, maintenance and development and testing of backup and recovery methodologies, troubleshooting, capacity and performance planning, performance tuning, preventative maintenance, monitoring and alerting setup and security hardening.
Responsible for the implementation, administration and maintenance of databases running on a Sun Solaris and a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Server platform.
Performing Daily and weekly backups of all servers like Unix(Linux and Solaris), windows and VMware servers.
Restoration of backups on demand.
User Management like add/delete/modify the user accounts, user profiles, and security authorizations, etc.
Managing the users Quotas on file systems.
Troubleshooting the issues on Disks, File Systems, Users& Groups .
Scheduling backup plans like full, incremental and deferential Backup by using tar and cpio, fsdump and ufsdump.
Creating File Systems, System Security & Process Control.
Spontaneous support for the issues generated in daily routine and solving the issues.
Upgraded infrastructure - Replaced aging Servers with new machines.
