Started the remote R&D mechanical engineering support department in the Middle East, Eaton Industries BV, for the multinational Eaton Corporation. Promoted to Lead CAD/IT representative for R&D and member of Innovation and Expertise team. This work involves operational control of part of the engineering capability; managing the R&D team in the Middle East (i.e. workload, planning, forecasting, and HR-related processes); liaising between ESS R&D Hengelo Netherlands and the Middle East; and creating mechanical design solutions for Low Voltage Systems in electrical distribution and Motor Control applications with working models tested according IEC 61439 as deliverables. Managing multiple simultaneous project including VAVE redesigns, new product family design and creating and implementing new design instruction and processes for the whole design team. Liasing with local UAE suppliers to get best possible subcontracts.
Customising and training of the VERTEX CAD software products for the Australian building industry. This involved customer demonstrations, investigating and understanding different customer needs and volume of buildings as well as requirements from different materials used (steel or timber, house or mining industry clients). Based on this I wrote specifications, managed team of software programmers, made software modifications, created a customer environments and templates and trained customer to efficiently use program. Work also involved customizing software to work with customer machinery and ODBC interfaces. e.g Weinmann panel assembly stations (automatic nailing and cutting patterns) or Howick roll formers.

2004 -2005 Clash Follow Up Coordinator (Contractor), Digital Mock-up team, Airbus A380 project, Airbus, Hamburg, Germany.
Used the tools of VPM, DVISE, CATIA and number of in-house built programs to ensure that the electrical design (ATA92 responsibility) was free of DMU troubles or clashes with other structural components. This role required good communication / management / problem solving skills to follow up problems with subcontractors and designers so that design faults were corrected in a given deadline to keep new aircraft deliveries on time.

Part of the highly skilled Eurofighter Electrical Design (EFED) team that used CATIA V4.2.4 and E3D for the electrical design of the Cockpit, ECS and Radar Bays in the single seat Eurofighter. The results of the EFED team were well above standards normally expected due to the very high level of professionalism and team work. The role also required an ability to quickly adapt to new tasks and undertake smaller projects such as Metflight, Westland Helicopters (material changes), Boeing modifications etc.

Used I-deas and common PC-softwares in this automotive supplier company to develop, design and upgrade the structure of various dynamic sealing designs of Australian car manufactures. This required advanced level CAD skills, effective project management skills, regular liaison with customers (on site and off site), and working closely with FEM engineers using MARC/MENTAT to analyse non-linear materials. As the main CAD engineer, work involved the innovative use of CAD programs, such as creating VRML presentations for the Sales Department, finding answers independently to challenging CAD environment problems, and meeting tight deadlines for CAD deliverables.
