Started the remote R&D mechanical engineering support department in the Middle East, Eaton Industries BV, for the multinational Eaton Corporation. Promoted to Lead CAD/IT representative for R&D and member of Innovation and Expertise team. This work involves operational control of part of the engineering capability; managing the R&D team in the Middle East (i.e. workload, planning, forecasting, and HR-related processes); liaising between ESS R&D Hengelo Netherlands and the Middle East; and creating mechanical design solutions for Low Voltage Systems in electrical distribution and Motor Control applications with working models tested according IEC 61439 as deliverables. Managing multiple simultaneous project including VAVE redesigns, new product family design and creating and implementing new design instruction and processes for the whole design team. Liasing with local UAE suppliers to get best possible subcontracts.

Work also involved customizing software to work with customer machinery and ODBC interfaces. e.g Weinmann panel assembly stations (automatic nailing and cutting patterns) or Howick roll formers.

Used the tools of VPM, DVISE, CATIA and number of in-house built programs to ensure that the electrical design (ATA92 responsibility) was free of DMU troubles or clashes with other structural components. This role required good communication / management / problem solving skills to follow up problems with subcontractors and designers so that design faults were corrected in a given deadline to keep new aircraft deliveries on time.
