Senior Project Engineer (South Engineering Department - OSE) responsible to managing a number of projects executed as EPCC contract including Basic & Detail Design, Procurement, Construction, Pre-commissioning & Commissioning for sweet and sour (H2S) services. At same time I am responsible for quality check and act as Mechanical and Piping adviser for all contractor activities during the execution of the project.
Currently handling multiple Brown field Projects of more than 150 Mln USD:
These include:
- Facility upgrades (including installation of Pumps, Compressors, Educators, Separators, tanks, water injection systems and piping systems)
- EOR Projects (including chemical injection systems)
-GAS Optimizations projects (Zero Flaring Green projects)
- Pipeline line Projects (including oil gathering systems along with headers and main pipelines
Following are the key responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate yearly Cluster (Marmul / RTQ) shutdowns as Project shutdown coordinator.
- Manage and Facilitate Cluster (Marmul / RTQ) Risk Management sessions as Project Risk Management Champion.
- Participate in more than 12 PSUA (pre-start up audits) as Mechanical TA.
- Manage EPCM / EPCC contract both for on plot and off plot.
- Manage Project controls (Scope, Cost, Schedule and Risks)
- Managing Project interface between different stake holders.
- Mange Project life cycle from Conceptual to commissioning.
- Mange Project FEED, DD and participate in HAZID, HAZOP, IPF, Risk Assessment, Constructability review and other critical Process safety studies.
- Implement and comply with PDO Project Standards and Guides and DCAF.
- Develop Project PCAP.
- Compliance of DEM1 and DEM2 procedure.
- Develop Project execution plan.
- Develop Project HSE plan.
- Manage Project Progress, and resolve Project conflicts.
- Manage Project procurement and material delivery activities, technical clarification, contract scope execution throughout EP & C phase and support assistance to commissioning team with EP/Supplier involvement.
- Work in a multi discipline engineering environment that involves design, procurement and construction to PDO standards and agreed scope.
- Ensure timely issuance of RFQ’s, TBE/CBE closure to facilitate earliest placement of Purchase Orders.
- Proactively working with EPC contractor to ensure procurement of equipment’s is done within agreed delivery period in compliance to Project engineering, Quality and HSE requirements.
- Actively participate in technical inter-discipline meetings and discussions in ensuring that decisions taken and issues resolved are properly documented and communicated to the concerned parties.
- Manage the interfaces with other project systems and design engineers and other area disciplines.
- Ensure (demonstrably) Quality in design and procurement.
- Ensure maximization of standardization and replication.
- Coordination of internal and external claims/variation orders and technical issues.
- Support commissioning activities and ensure as built documentation, drawings, close out reports, operating and maintenance manuals are prepared and entered / handed across to relevant parties.
- Support Construction to ease the flow of and resolution of field queries/clarifications.
- Manage / participate weekly project meetings with EP Contractor.
- Prepares project status weekly reports and regularly review man-hours, and schedules. Keeps an accurate record and electronic data base of all elements of the projects.
- Capture ongoing lessons learned and identify areas for business improvement
Work as TA - Mechanical (For Static and piping) / Lead Mechanical Engineer and provide Mechanical Engineering technical guidance and assurance for Projects. Review and advice on mechanical engineering deliverable from the Engineering Contractor. Develop, set and maintain accurate “fit for purpose” mechanical Standards, and then provide necessary guidance coaching and support to field based engineering practitioners in the application of those standards.

- Skillful in international codes and standards for piping and Equipment’s like, ASME, B31.3, NACE, API Codes.
- Conduct internal trainings for young Engineers for API 510, API 563, API 570, API 579, B31.3 and ASME Section VIII Div.1
- Member of team perform Sour Service Risk Assessment of Paniro facility
- Repair more than 50 Pressure vessels / Tanks as per code and standards.
- Facilitate PHSER (Project HSE reviews), DR (Design Reviews), PSUA (Project start-up audits) and Risk Management Sessions.
- Leading BP in-house Design House team for engineering design, specifications, studies and consulting services for new and existing oil & gas facilities and pipelines
- Project Management of 2 Amine and Dehydration Plant (Turk Amine 40MMSCFD) and (Tangri Dehydration Plan 25MMSCFD).
- Wellhead Compression system
- Installation of more than 10 Gas Compressor reciprocating of Capacity 8 - 30 MMSCFD gas.
- Installation of More than 5 Screw Compressors as Booster Compressor.
- Installation of Two major Gas Injection Facilities (Dhabi and Duphri)
- Develop more than 5 Water injection / Disposal facilities.
- Installation of more than 30+ Jet pumps for Secondary recovery of oil.
- Installation of more than 5 EPF (Early Production facilities.
- Installation of more than 5 Gas remote facilities.
- Gas lifts Facilities.
- Reviewing BP - ETPS and developing STP’s for BP-Pakistan.
- Conduct RBI for 5 major facilities of BP.
- Worked as Contract Sponsor to teach and develop HSE aspect.
- Pre-qualifications of New vendors Like Separators, Pipeline and Compressors.
As Lead Mechanical Engineering for Static Equipment/Piping and pipeline:
- Supervise piping / pipeline design works as per company procedures, guidelines and HSE requirements.
- Approval of Design Packages.
- Prepare resources management plan for design
- Interface with other disciplines
-Planning, prioritizing and organizing team tasks and activities.
- Prepare strategies for material procurement
- Review and approve vendors drawings
- Review and approve plot plan, piping plan, isometric and other drawings.
- Review and approve cost estimates for piping and pipelines
Passed Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management in 2006 from PIMS.
