To better ensure the successful delivery of the bank’s projects and initiatives, the Project Management Office was transformed from pure PMO role to an Execution office in January 2010, provided with full authority and overall management of all projects across the bank.
As a senior program/project manager in this challenging area, I was responsible for:
- Overall management of assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery thru effective and efficient exercise of controls over Scope, Cost, Schedule, Resources and Quality. Provide timely and accurate reports of project's status / progress to all stakeholders.
- Proactive and on-time escalation of any issue/s and risk/s to avoid slippages, and ensure quick resolution and mitigation.
- Manage project stakeholders and lead team members and other project managers.
To achieve the Bank’s new vision to “Be a Multi-Specialist Islamic Bank”, the Executive Management has embarked on a new strategy and a single 4-year transformation plan - the “AFAQ2012 Transformation”. To ensure its successful implementation, a new Transformation Group was formed and given the prime responsibility of monitoring and coordinating all program initiatives / projects critical to achieving the Bank’s new vision by 2012.
As a PMO consultant, I was responsible for providing project management support and expertise to project managers in order to ensure all supported projects are properly monitored, controlled and delivered successfully
Special Projects Department is the “project management champion” of the Bank. The Department is responsible for the initiation, planning, management and delivery of various projects ranging from operations, business and technology-related projects. It consists of project managers and business/technical analysts with wide knowledge and expertise in various fields.
My responsibilities include contributing fully or partly on assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle - from initiation till closure (e.g. scoping, developing project plan, schedule development, assigning resources, project execution, work monitoring & control, change requests, performance reporting, etc.).
Managed & implemented the “MIS Project” for Support Group (Ops & Technology). Managed the MIS Unit for a period of 2 years.
Global Transaction Services (GTS) - Sales is the department in-charge of marketing the Electronic Banking System of Samba (called SambaAccess) as well as other Cash Management & Trade products solutions.
Worked in various capacities in this area such as Admin. Assistant, MIS specialist and Solution delivery for various GTS products mainly the SambaAccess - ebanking platform, and other Cash / Trade solutions (documentation completion, back-office customer profiling work and other after-Sales services such as providing client access to the system & training), for our Corporate clients.
Regularly interface with the customers for inquiries and for the provision of other banking services. Also assist higher Management in customizing Cash management proposal / offering to client(s) as well as preparing innovative Cash management presentations. Developed and managed the GTS Sales Pipeline dbase (MIS Function).
Handle overall accounting of the branch in Jeddah: serve as Cash Custodian, prepare various financial reports such as cash position of the branch, Sales Reports, Expense Analyses, Trial Balance, and Financial Statements. Audit our stock inventory items in the custody of our storekeeper.
Prepare country-wide petty cash reimbursements, issue payment vouchers of the daily expenses of the Company & bank reconciliation statements. Maintain the ledger for advances to officers and employees.
