This training also includes risk control, transport hazards, fire safety, electrical safety, musculoskeletal disorder, equipment hazards and risk control, chemical and biological health hazards physical and psychological health hazards and others. We were required also of practical application in our own work places examinations applying the different syllabus we have learned.
In this course, we were Introduced to international safety standards in different industries such as Construction, Petrochemical, Oil and Gas Industries. Trained about safety procedures for certain activities ex. scaffolding, oil drilling offshore and onshore and others. We were also trained to be certified and qualified safety officers and engineers. This training includes basic first aid, rescue procedures, sea survival, Helicopter Exit Training, H2S, different kinds and types of PPE's, hazardous material handling, Emergency Procedures and Response and others.
Taking this course was quite challenging. I have learned a lot of principles and theories about Mining; Mining Methods of Different types of Minerals ex. Gold, Nickel, Copper and etc. In this course also we have different subjects pertaining to Rock Studies, Mineral Processing, Tunneling, Excavation Supports and others. It is also worth mentioning that we have several subjects about Safety and Environmental standards for Mining Industries where I first learned basic principles of safety standards, environmental impacts and procedures either in surface and underground mining.
