Arun Chitra Ramani

Arun is a Senior Planning Engineer overseeing planning functions of all phases of the projects under the Public Realm Package including soft landscaping and bulk procurement contracts from initial planning to final execution under Diriyah Gate Development - Public Realm & Special Works - Project Management and Cost Management Service.
He established and monitored the Performance Baseline Schedule for various packages, managing projects valued at up to $1 billion from initiation to closeout. He implemented rolling wave planning and periodic revisions to adapt to the continuous evolution of project scope. Arun managed time schedules for Lead Design Consultants, ensuring 100% alignment with client requirements. He coordinated with Procurement and Commercial Teams for the procurement of consultants/contractors for design and construction packages, as well as suppliers of bulk procurement elements under the program. Arun prepared client reports and dashboards, managed downstream planning functions of supervision consultants and contractors, and identified project risks while maintaining the project's Risk Register. He also managed stakeholder relationships, resulting in high satisfaction rates among clients and project partners.

Arun worked on the King Fahd Causeway Resident Consultant Project, overseeing planning functions for projects on both the Saudi Arabia and Bahrain sides. He led the planning consultancy services for the King Fahd Causeway Authority (KFCA). His achievements include reviewing and approving contractors' baseline schedules, tracking and verifying progress for projects worth up to $200M, and providing progress trends and Earned Value reports.
Arun established a project monitoring system using Microsoft Power BI and closely monitored contractors' programs to address delays, resulting in reduced project delays. He managed stakeholder relationships and ensured alignment with client requirements, consistently delivering successful outcomes.

Arun led planning functions of supervision consultants and managed downstream contractors. He reviewed and approved contractor baseline programs, tracked progress, and provided Earned Value reports and updates. He also reviewed revised programs and issued timely reminders to contractors.
Arun prepared progress status reports for the PMC and monitored delayed activities to prevent impacts on the critical path. He also assisted the Resident Engineer by highlighting critical activities and issuing reminders to expedite delays. He responded to contractor correspondences, analyzed time impacts with quantity surveyors, and reviewed Extension of Time (EOT) claims, providing recommendations. Additionally, he organized progress meetings, prepared minutes, participated in technical meetings to address site issues, identified project risks, and maintained the Risk Register.

Arun served as the Lead Planner for multiple Design & Build Projects and prepared planning packages in line with contract requirements. Collaborated with the design team during initial stages to integrate various design elements into the baseline program.
He also monitored work schedules and budgets, providing necessary inputs to ensure projects were completed within contract parameters. Communicated and coordinated with the design team to ensure the receipt of design deliverables, incorporation of additional client requirements, and follow-up on revised design deliverables.
Arun actively participated in project progress meetings, significantly contributing to progress presentations for consultants and clients. Supported the site team in strategy development and execution of project management activities, and participated in WAR room meetings and brainstorming sessions. Proactively provided updates on the approved tracking schedule and issued early warning notices for critical activities.

Arun was the Lead Planner for the project “Rehabilitation and upgrading of the roads & infrastructure in the Doha Industrial Area (Package 2)” involving 40 km of roadwork, including removal of existing pavement & pavement construction with all underground wet (Wastewater) and dry utilities (150 km open trench & 11 km Micro-tunneling). On behalf of the Joint Venture (JV), Arun handled the creation of project’s baseline schedule He assessed the required manpower and equipment for program activities and generated tables and histograms to project anticipated requirements.
Arun developed periodic progress updates for clients, including monthly progress reports and presentations for consultants and clients. He provided timely updates on progress drawings, S-Curves, and project status to the JV’s Executive committee. He efficiently reviewed baseline planning packages, considering variations in consultation with the project team. Arun strategized and implemented construction schedules for monitoring key milestone areas, prepared cash flow and earned value reports, and forecasted monthly revenue projections until the project’s final delivery. He collaborated with the Contracts Department for delay impact analysis, EOT claims, and impacted programs. Additionally, Arun generated daily reports and weekly programs for roadworks and other site requirements.

Arun managed the planning and execution of various significant infrastructure projects, including roads and infrastructure for residential communities in Dubai Hills Estate, Arabian Ranches, and Ream Developments for EMAAR, as well as Modon and Tijara communities for Dubai Properties. He also led the planning for the pumping station and sewerage infrastructure works for Dubai Municipality, and the construction of internal roads in Al Quoz 4 for RTA.
Arun developed progress status reports, ensured timely updates on project drawings and schedules, and effectively communicated with stakeholders. His expertise includes delay impact analysis, Extension of Time (EOT) claims, cash flow and earned value reports

Project Details: Underground piping & associated works for Doha North Sewerage Treatment Works, Qatar.
Project Scope: Laying of underground DIEL, GRP, VC & RC pipes (50 KM APPROX) AND associated civil works such as manholes flow meters and inspection chambers and overall area grading.
Project Value: QR 90 Million (US $ 25 MILLION)

Handled estimates and purchase orders preparation using SAP for different projects related to CAPEX and OPEX budget heads for power distribution.
Lead engineering works related to successful execution of 108 MW combined and 1 MW Solar Power Plants

Civil supervision works at Main Fire Station Building of Delhi International Airport with the responsibilities of controlling the sub contractors and guiding them.
Certification of sub-contractor works.

Oversaw civil works for Main Reactor Building of Kudankulam nuclear power plant including all material requests as per approved construction drawings.
