• Automated reports across the department, freeing up time and resources across the department
• Migrated reports from Excel to Power BI, ensuring the least amount of possible manual input going forward
• Lead a Master Data Management (MDM) project to create a one stop shop for data, ensuring going forward any ad-hoc analysis was using consistent data
• One section of the MDM project entailed creating an MS Form for Vendors to complete in order to capture data for the MDM Database
• Developed a Demand Planning and Forecasting solution to enable the department to plan when making key decisions (i.e. budgeting, hiring staff)
• Made significant improvements on a widely used Dashboard, improving user experience and improving dataset used
• Developed KPIs to ensure that performance was accurately measured across the department
• Created dashboards based around these KPIs to allow a visual representation of the goals of the department
• Developed a Vendor Evaluation process to measure Vendor Performance. Followed by a strategy to make decisions based on the results of the evaluation
• Currently working on implementing a Punch Out Catalog within our system
• Created a complex pricing model, replacing the current manual process in place, saving time and reducing human error
• Built effective database solutions (involved data mapping and data validation) in MS Access based on the needs of the unique projects put forth.
For example merged data from various sources and cleaned the data through data mapping to prepare for analysis
• Delivered Power BI reporting solutions in order to drive business decisions.
These reports allowed us to reduce cost by up to £250k in some areas of the business
• Implemented numerous time saving process improvements. In one case, reducing a process from 10 hours per week to just 5 hours a week
• Supported further development of database systems by taking on more responsibility provided by the Director of Technology
• Successfully migrated BAU reports from Excel to Qlik Sense for clients to access on demand
• Automated reporting of many client reports through the use of SQL Server and Excel VBA
• Responded to internal and external requests for support through data manipulation and explanation
• Strengthened LMC relationships with clients through building rapport with clients whilst dealing with clients on a daily basis
• Communicated proactively with many different levels of management (i.e. Global Sales & Marketing Director, Director of Business Development) across the company to ensure that requirements for custom files were as transparent as possible
• Took on full responsibility of the Middle East & Africa (ME&A) Forecast involving; researching the market on a daily basis and improving legacy processes in place to allow for more time for research
• Primary function of the role was to provide pricing guidance derived from our pricing calculator.
This entailed gathering data from various sources and plugging this into the pricing calculator.
• Worked with the various sales teams to make necessary adjustments to calculation files based on special cases and regional variations.
• Worked with the MRPA (Management, Reporting, Planning & Analysis) team to provide any necessary information required to successfully complete any reporting or forecasting on the new journal package offerings.
• Worked alongside various stakeholders across Springer Nature, but in particular those from the Sales and MRPA teams.
• Worked with other local and international colleagues across departments to understand their requirements, regional variations and complexities
• Presented colleagues with our newest pricing calculator through MS PowerPoint
• Assisted on our SAP migration project on a number of occasions.
Notably, creating a spreadsheet that automatically reformatted excel invoices to the format within SAP
