• Providing PMC services and representing Expo Bureau (Employer) during the design and construction supervision phases.
• Preparing of the procurement strategies for the projects and advising the Employer on the best construction packages, detailed scope, time schedule, preferred vendors, potential risks/ opportunities, and final recommendations.
• Preparing of the strategic briefs for the projects and prepare all the required documents for bidding.
• Managing of the design consultants during the design stages (RIBA stages from 1 to 4) and ensure that they are delivering as per the approved work schedules.
• Facilitating the coordination between the design consultants and side-wide consultants and contractors who are working for other projects within Expo 2020.
• Following up all the required approval from Authorities and ensuring that all approvals are obtained on-time.
• Leading the planning and cost management specialists to fully control the delivery time and the budget.
• Preparing, maintaining and updating of the projects’ Risk Registers (monthly updates) as part of the risk management processes.
• Preparing of the master plan for the whole development and submit it to Dubai municipality for approval.
• Reporting to the Chairman the strategic plans of the whole development and how to manage groups of projects to achieve desired outcomes / benefits and structuring and controlling of those projects so they deliver effectively as a group.
• Inviting state-of-the-art consultants to bid for concept designs. This includes preparing of the bid documents; define objectives, deliverables, etc.
• Reviewing of the concept design deliverables with the stakeholders, comment it back to the Consultants.
• At the concept design stage: Ensuring the financial models of the proposed projects are sound considering the land price, built-up area, construction dry cost, infrastructure costs and salable area and salable prices.
• Concentrating on the attraction factors for the new projects and how to distinguish our product from similar products in the market to increase sales.
• Preparing consultancy agreements for design development per FIDIC conditions of contract (while book) and ensure the scope statement is complete.
• Handling pre-award presentations with the Consultants to ensure proper understanding of the scope and uncover any doubt pertaining to the scope.
• Preparing construction agreements per FIDIC conditions of contract (Red book) and ensure that all schedules and appendices are covering the required scope.
• Managing the design deliverables in accordance with construction requirements and Client’s expectations from preparing of concept design options until completing the final design.
• Conducting through and detailed studies on the different options and the feasibility of restoration of the heritage buildings within the site (the Union House and the Guest house palace) and producing different options to the client to choose from (3D laser survey and make replica or rehabilitation using cathodic protection and concrete repair technologies).
• Managing of preparing of the Tender and Construction Documents comprises: Tender and Contract Conditions, Technical Specifications (as per CSI standards) and BOQ, etc.
• Coordinating all construction/design matters among the key project stakeholders - Client, Design Team and third-party specialists.
• Managing procurement of sub-consultants and specialists needed for performing the scope of work (Fire & life safety, IT, Security, AV, landscaping, Vertical Transpiration, Façade consultants, etc.) This includes preparing of RFPs, arranging presentation, negotiating, finalizing the contracts agreement, monitoring and control their deliverables with the master plan schedule.
• Responsible for developing work programs, updating the work schedule with actual progress, reporting with KPI’s (Earned value management), and taking the proper corrective and preventive actions.
• Leading Structural Design team consist of 14 Engineers in House and 8 Engineers (virtual team in Egypt) through Analysis and Design of different types of projects in UAE, Oman, Qatar, and Egypt.
• Establishing the structural concepts of varies types of buildings, utility/ infrastructure civil buildings, determining acting gravity loads/lateral loads, preparing concept structural models and assessing the analysis outputs.
• Establishing development strategies for high-rise building section through preparing development and training schemes.
• Carrying-out the detailed design of reinforced concrete and steel Skelton according to the latest international codes and standards.
• Participating and assisting in value engineering workshops with the Clients.
• Reviewing the Structural & Civil submittals (Shop drawings, Materials, Method statements) submitted by the Contractors.
• Working closely with the Client and Contractor and ensuring that works are carried out are as per the approved drawings & complying with the specifications, and that any problems that arise are quickly resolved.
• Structural Peer reviewer for EPC, PMC contracts.
